The exhibition is a meaningful and practical activity to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), towards the 114th anniversary of the birth of General Vo Nguyen Giap (August 25, 1911 - August 25, 2025).
Speaking at the ceremony, the representative of the Provincial General Museum affirmed: General Vo Nguyen Giap was the first Commander-in-Chief, the Elder Brother of the Vietnam People's Army, one of the legendary figures in modern Vietnamese history.
Since he was a student at Hue National School, General Vo Nguyen Giap soon absorbed revolutionary ideology and participated in patriotic movements.
With his loyalty, intelligence and strategic talent, the General became a talented commander of many major campaigns, culminating in the Dien Bien Phu Victory in 1954 and the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign in 1975, contributing greatly to the struggle for independence and national reunification.
The exhibition consists of two main parts: Part 1 introduces the life and glorious revolutionary career of General Vo Nguyen Giap; Part 2 depicts everyday, intimate images between the General and the people of Quang Binh, expressing his deep affection for his homeland.
Through the valuable images and documents displayed, the exhibition not only contributes to expressing gratitude and honoring the great contributions of General Vo Nguyen Giap but also spreads historical values, revolutionary traditions, fostering patriotism, the will to study and train for today's young generation.
This is also an opportunity for teachers and students to better understand a great general, an exemplary model of revolutionary morality, from which they can strive to learn, follow the example of their predecessors, and join hands to build their homeland and country to develop more and more.
