Tra Vinh University opens the 2024 - 2025 school year

On November 18, Tra Vinh University held the Opening Ceremony of the 2024-2025 school year and a meeting to celebrate the 42nd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day.

The ceremony is a special occasion for the entire school, together with central and local leaders, teachers, staff and students, to evaluate the achievements and affirm their determination towards a new school year with many breakthrough development goals.

In the 2023-2024 school year report, teachers and students of Tra Vinh University reviewed the outstanding achievements of the previous school year with some impressive results such as: The school continued to maintain its 42nd rank in the Top 100 WURI Ranking, achieved the global Top 1 in cultural values ​​(index group B5), and increased the total number of international standard training programs to 19 programs, continuing to affirm the pioneering position of the school in the Mekong Delta region and in the international arena.

Not stopping there, the past school year witnessed the success of many scientific projects and creative startups, especially outstanding initiatives such as “Lucbinhgauze – Biological bandages from water hyacinth” and “S2M – Skin from mango peel.” These prestigious awards not only affirm the creativity of students but also spread profound humanistic values ​​to the community.

On the occasion of the Opening Ceremony of the 2024-2025 school year, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thien Nhan awarded 37 Mr. and Mrs. Prof. Nguyen Thien Thanh scholarships to students, each worth 4 million VND. The school honored and rewarded the new Valedictorian and Salutatorian students with excellent achievements in the 2024-2025 enrollment period.

In addition, in the 2024-2025 school year, Tra Vinh University received and awarded 593 scholarships sponsored by units, individuals, organizations, sponsors, and domestic and foreign scholarship funds to support students with a total scholarship value of over 3.5 billion VND.

At the Ceremony, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thien Nhan shared about the topic "Happy Family", sending the message about Happy School to all leaders, officials, lecturers, students and workers.

He asserted that a happy family is not only complete in terms of members but also must perform core social functions such as care, education and nurturing. The professor also mentioned equipping students with practical skills to take care of themselves and a happy family – skills that are not directly taught in schools today.

Mr. Nguyen Thien Nhan suggested that lecturers should develop appropriate curriculums, aiming to create a "happy school". He pointed out the imbalance in marriage in some developed countries, affecting sustainable development. According to him, education is a key factor in orienting the younger generation to the right values ​​and perspectives related to happiness.

It is known that Tra Vinh University is currently compiling the “Happiness Studies” curriculum to integrate into the official curriculum.
