Mr. Doan Hoang Hai (73 years old, living in Ben Tre province) has just received his doctorate from Tra Vinh University.

More than 5 years ago, he studied for a PhD in Business Administration. “Tra Vinh protected and nurtured me during the war, and now it is the place where I continue to study, improve my knowledge and contribute,” he said.

The oldest graduate student of Tra Vinh University believes that studying, self-studying and lifelong learning are both to update and improve one's knowledge and to have the opportunity to contribute intellectual value to society, setting an example for one's children to follow.

He confided that currently his children and grandchildren have master's degrees and some are doing postgraduate studies.

Holding his doctorate degree in hand, Mr. Hai shared: "As I get older, my health is not as good as before. That is the biggest obstacle for me, because I have to travel far to school to study, as well as improve my knowledge, research, analyze, conduct sociological surveys and write my thesis.

However, I was fortunate to have the support of my family and relatives. The dedicated guidance of my teachers helped me complete my doctoral thesis on time."

The topic he successfully defended was titled "Factors affecting human resource development in enterprises: The case of Ho Chi Minh City Telecommunications".

He has worked in the telecommunications industry for a long time, so he sees the opportunities and challenges of human resources in this field.

“We are entering the era of Industry 4.0, our country is moving to the stage of digital government, digital society, information technology is booming strongly. My research updates on trends, technology and solutions for human resource development in the telecommunications industry to stay ahead of the curve and adapt to the times.

Hopefully this thesis topic will bring many useful values ​​to businesses to effectively use and develop human resources," said Mr. Hai.

Talking about his upcoming plans, Mr. Hai said he wishes to have good health to continue to improve his knowledge, learn and contribute his research values ​​to society.

He is also participating in publishing a Can Tho City gazetteer on Posts and Telecommunications. “In the near future, I plan to write books on standards, ethics of leaders, business management, and continue to teach topics on startups, digital business, etc. at universities,” he shared.

Mr. Doan Hoang Hai is from Ba Tri district, Ben Tre province. He is a member of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ben Tre province, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Liaison Committee of Ben Tre compatriots in Ho Chi Minh City; Deputy Head of the Traditional Resistance Club of Information - Postal Delivery, Central Office of the South.

Mr. Hai is a 2/4 class disabled veteran. More than 50 years ago, he was stationed in Duyen Hai district (now Duyen Hai town, Tra Vinh province). With the protection of the local people, he successfully completed the task assigned by the Radio Information Department of the Saigon Gia Dinh Regional Party Committee.
