Provincial Party Secretary Luong Nguyen Minh Triet said that exactly 50 years ago (March 24, 1975), in the spirit of the rapid revolutionary offensive of the whole country, the flag of the Liberation Front flew in Tam Ky - the provincial capital of Quang Tin province, the first town on National Highway 1 in the South to be completely liberated. Also in this historic March, 95 years ago, on March 28, 1930, the Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee was established, the second Party Committee in the country (after the Hanoi City Party Committee) to be established after the establishment of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930). These are important events, special milestones in the revolutionary career of the Quang Nam Party Committee and people. Over the past century, the Party Committee, army and people of Quang Nam have highly promoted the tradition of patriotism, cultural identity and good qualities of the people of Quang Nam, creating glorious feats of arms, shining with revolutionary heroism, with great victories and extremely great achievements throughout the journey of building and developing Quang Nam province.

Reviewing the achievements in socio-economic development, national security and defense of the province after 50 years of liberation, the Secretary of the Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee emphasized that our country is ready and actively preparing all conditions to enter a new era of development - the era of national development. Belief, aspiration and the command to accelerate and develop are the main sources of inspiration, spreading widely throughout the political system, businesses and people nationwide. Therefore, Quang Nam must also resolutely accelerate, break through, and accompany the whole country.

To achieve that, the Provincial Party Secretary clearly stated the major tasks in the coming time. That is, striving to complete all development targets, especially economic growth of 10% or more and soon completing the program of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for policy households and poor households; continuing to find ways to strongly promote all the different potentials, outstanding opportunities, and competitive advantages of the province, especially in industry, energy, trade, logistics, tourism, and services. Reviewing and having specific solutions to remove stuck, slow-progressing, and wasteful projects to free up and mobilize all social resources for development; Effectively implementing the Action Program of the Provincial Party Standing Committee to implement Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation, and national digital transformation; consider this as the most important breakthrough, the main driving force to rapidly develop modern productive forces, perfect production relations, innovate management methods, develop socio-economy...

Speaking at the ceremony, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia emphasized: Quang Nam, a land rich in historical and cultural traditions, "brave and resilient" has always been a shining symbol of patriotism, indomitable will and indomitable spirit in the face of all difficulties and challenges. Throughout history, from the patriotic movement against colonialism and imperialism to the nation's long-term resistance war, the people of Quang Nam have always been united, unanimous, and joined hands to contribute to the whole country to defeat the invaders, liberate and build the homeland. Overcoming many difficult stages, Quang Nam has had positive, comprehensive and profound changes in socio-economic development. From a province among the poorest in the country, having to receive subsidies of over 70% of the central budget; to date, Quang Nam has risen to become a fairly developed province in the region, contributing to the central budget. The size of the economy in 2024 at current prices will reach about 129 trillion VND, an increase of more than 40 times compared to 1997.

A performance at the program

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, the Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission commended and congratulated the achievements that Quang Nam has achieved in the glorious history of the past 95 years. However, the road ahead still has many difficulties and challenges, requiring the locality to look to the future with new efforts, determination and aspirations. In particular, focusing on a number of major orientations and key tasks such as: updating, concretizing, urgently and resolutely implementing the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws on rearranging and streamlining the apparatus of the political system according to Conclusion No. 126-KL/TW, dated February 14, 2025 and Conclusion No. 127-KL/TW, dated February 28, 2025 of the Politburo and the Secretariat. Streamlining the apparatus with the structure, building a team of qualified and capable cadres who dare to think, dare to do, dare to take responsibility, are formally trained, have reasonable staffing, and standardize titles; maintain and effectively promote the main growth drivers of the economy; develop based on the balance between urban and rural areas, industry and agriculture, mainland and islands, strive for a double-digit GRDP growth rate from 2025 onwards; focus on developing high-quality human resources, promoting the development of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation according to Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo and Resolution No. 03-NQ/TW, dated January 9, 2025 of the Government. Invest heavily in research and application of science and technology, promote the startup and innovation ecosystem; Innovate management methods, develop socio-economy, improve public services, prevent the risk of falling behind; strengthen cooperation with universities and research institutes at home and abroad to improve the quality of human resources, meet the needs and trends in the new development era.

The Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission hopes that Quang Nam will continue to promote its glorious revolutionary tradition, uphold the spirit of creativity, dynamism, the will of "self-reliance, self-confidence, self-reliance, self-strengthening, national pride", firmly overcome difficulties and challenges, unite, continue to exploit potentials and strengths, mobilize all resources, constantly strive, make breakthroughs in socio-economic development, in the immediate future, turn Quang Nam into a bright spot of development in the whole country, an important growth pole of the Central Highlands region by 2030, making a worthy contribution to the common development of the region and the country.

In the sacred atmosphere, the delegation observed a minute of silence to express their respect, deep gratitude, and remembrance of the heroic martyrs' great contributions and sacrifices to the cause of national liberation and reunification. Next, the delegation offered incense and flowers at the Monument of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers in Tam Ky city; expressing their boundless gratitude for the incomparable sacrifices and contributions of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland in war as well as in peace; vowing to live, fight, study and follow the shining examples of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers through concrete actions, contributing to building an increasingly powerful and prosperous country.
