In 2025, National Economics University will enroll 73 majors, increasing the target to 8,500.

Accordingly, in 2025, the National Economics University will have a total of 73 enrollment codes, an increase of 7 codes compared to 2024. The new enrollment codes include 2 new training majors in Vietnamese: International Trade Law and Labor Relations; 2 advanced training program codes (including 5 programs), and 3 high-quality training program codes (16 programs).

The total enrollment target for 2025 is 8,500, an increase of about 6% compared to 2024 (7,950 enrollment targets). Of which, the regular university target is 8,200, and the regular university transfer system is 300.

Consider high school graduation exam scores and combined admission

Regarding the admission method, the National Economics University maintains the same methods as in 2024. In addition to the direct admission method according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, which takes about 3% of the total quota, the remaining methods are admission based on the 2025 high school graduation exam scores and combined admission based on the admission information of the National Economics University, without dividing the quota as in previous years.

Specifically, the direct admission method applies to candidates who won first, second, and third prizes in national and international competitions for excellent students organized and nominated by the Ministry of Education and Training, and candidates who won first prizes in national and international science and technology competitions organized and nominated by the Ministry of Education and Training.

The admission method based on the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam applies to all 2025 admission codes of the National Economics University. The school uses 4 combinations (A00, A01, D01, D07) and there is no difference in admission scores between the admission combinations.

The combined admission method applies to all admission codes in 2025 and to 3 groups of candidates.

Group 1: includes candidates with international SAT or ACT certificates.

Group 2: includes candidates with the HSA test score of Hanoi National University or (APT) of Ho Chi Minh City National University or with the TSA test score of Hanoi University of Science and Technology or candidates with the international English certificate IELTS/TOEFL iBT/TOIEIC 4 skills combined with one of the HSA/APT/TSA test scores mentioned above.

Group 3: includes candidates with international English certificates IELTS/TOEFL iBT/TOIEIC 4 skills combined with high school graduation exam scores in 2025.

One change in the National Economics University's enrollment plan this year is that for the first time, advanced, high-quality programs will be enrolled from the beginning with 5 separate codes (2 advanced training program codes and 3 high-quality training program codes). Previously, in 2024, these programs enrolled after students were admitted.

Regarding the issue of determining the rules for converting equivalent input thresholds and admission scores between admission methods, the University shall follow the general instructions of the Ministry of Education and Training according to the admission regulations and will announce them immediately after the Ministry of Education and Training issues instructions.

Similarly, the conversion of admission scores between admission methods and admission combinations will also be carried out according to the general instructions of the Ministry of Education and Training and will be announced at the latest at the time of announcing the threshold to ensure input quality according to the general plan of the Ministry of Education and Training (expected after the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam are available).

Regarding the roadmap and plan for admissions and enrollment consultation, it is expected that in April, the National Economics University will develop and issue the University's enrollment plan, based on the Ministry's General Plan. In April and May, a series of livestreams will be organized to introduce enrollment information and introduce majors/training programs.

The National Economics University Open Day is scheduled to be held in May. By the end of May, the system for receiving applications for admission to the National Economics University (online) will be opened.

From July, National Economics University will organize admission exams based on the plan and instructions of the Ministry of Education and Training.

Math is the main admission subject.

According to Dr. Le Anh Duc, Head of Training Management Department, National Economics University, with the principles of fairness, transparency, publicity and putting the interests of candidates first, National Economics University has announced the orientation for regular university admission in 2025 from June 2024 and announced for the first time the basic contents of the Regular University Admission Project in January 2025. From there, it helps candidates who want to apply for admission to the school to be proactive in their studies and prepare the best conditions for the admission period.

Dr. Le Anh Duc emphasized that the enrollment plan of the National Economics University is basically suitable/meets the adjustments in the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.

Specifically, the direct admission method remains unchanged under the new regulations. The four admission combinations (A00, A01, D01, D07) all have Mathematics as the main subject, accounting for 33.3% (according to the required regulation, it is 25%).

The admission method combined with candidates with international SAT, ACT certificates; ability assessment/thinking assessment scores and combined with international English certificates will continue to be maintained and there will be equivalent conversion rules between the methods, ensuring fairness and benefits for candidates (candidates from many groups will use their strongest points for admission).

"In fact, the National Economics University has researched and has an equivalent conversion rule based on data analysis on input and learning outcomes of more than 20,000 admitted students in the past 3 years. However, this is past data that is only for reference. The accuracy and reliability of the conversion need to be based on this year's data," Mr. Duc informed.
