Yen Bai: Over 55 thousand poor households receive policy credit loans

CTTĐT - From 2023 to February 2025, policy credit activities in Yen Bai province with a cumulative loan turnover of VND 3,173 billion have helped over 55,300 poor households, near-poor households, newly escaped poverty households and other policy beneficiaries access to production and business, create livelihoods, improve income, and solve essential needs in life.

Of these, 9,541 poor households, 3,518 near-poor households, 5,208 newly escaped poverty households; 5,966 production, business and merchant households in disadvantaged areas borrowed policy credit; created jobs for 9,351 unemployed workers; supported costs for 80 workers to go abroad to work; supported study costs for 623 students in difficult circumstances.

Along with that, 64,155 new clean water and environmental sanitation works were built in rural areas; 146 social housing units were built; 707 households in ethnic minority and mountainous areas were provided loans to support residential land, production land, and job conversion; 11 non-public preschool and primary education facilities were restored; 1,800 computers were purchased for students to study online; 102 people who had completed their prison sentences were supported for community integration and job creation.

Social policy credit has contributed significantly to changing the face of people's lives, agriculture and rural areas. Many models of agricultural, forestry and service economic development have been formed and brought high economic efficiency such as community tourism models, forest planting, cinnamon planting, tea and orange tree development, models of raising buffalo, cow, pig and goat herds; poultry and turtle farming; investment models for developing local products with strengths, OCOP products....

Thereby, it has actively contributed to poverty reduction, solving local social security issues; actively contributed to the construction of new rural areas, ensuring local social security, preventing and repelling black credit, usury in rural areas and ethnic minority areas in the area .
