On April 9, Xinhua news agency cited a notice from the Chinese Ministry of Culture and Tourism issuing recommendations for Chinese tourists traveling to the US.
The ministry's notice noted that Chinese tourists should "fully assess the risks and exercise caution when traveling to the United States," citing the recent deterioration in China-US economic and trade relations as well as the security situation in the United States.
The recommendation comes amid escalating trade tensions between the US and China after the US imposed reciprocal tariffs and additional tariffs of up to 104% on goods from China.
In response, Beijing announced it would impose tariffs of up to 84% on goods from the US from April 10, up from the previously announced 34%./.
