Commending students with excellent achievements is an annual activity of the unit to encourage the learning of children, cadres, employees, and workers in the project area, helping them to overcome difficulties and strive to excel in their studies. At the commendation ceremony, the unit presented a total of 48 million VND to the students. Previously, on the occasion of the 24th anniversary of the Regiment's Traditional Day (May 31, 1999/May 31, 2023), the unit organized the presentation of 100 gifts including notebooks, school bags to students in the area where the unit is located and 400 sets of clothes worth 107 million VND.
In addition to encouraging children with high achievements and students with difficult circumstances to excel in their studies, every year the unit also organizes joyful activities such as Children's Day, Mid-Autumn Festival and summer activities for children of ministries, employees and workers in the project area with an amount of nearly 300 million VND/year.
In 2014, the unit was assigned by the Party Committee and Command of the 16th Corps to take care of and raise 5 orphaned Mong children (Sung Thi Dinh, born in 2000; Sung A Giang, born in 2002; Sung Thi Gio, born in 2004; Sung Thi Sung, born in 2007 and Sung Thi Nu, born in 2009) in Ea Kiet commune, Cu M'gar district, Dak Lak province. The unit built houses and ensured daily living and education for the children. In 2018, the oldest child (Sung Thi Dinh) was old enough to get married. The unit organized a wedding ceremony in accordance with local customs and legal regulations, then arranged for her to work at the Regiment's nursery.
In 2023, Sung A Giang passed the entrance exam to Tay Nguyen University. The unit is completing procedures for him to enroll in the Faculty of Pedagogy with the aim of creating a stable job for him and guiding him to return to the unit's project area after graduation to "sow knowledge" to students in the villages. For Sung Thi Gio and Sung Thi Sung, the unit is completing procedures for them to study at Dak Nong Community College with the motto of both vocational training and universalizing high school. For Sung Thi Nu, the unit continues to create conditions for her to study in grade 9 at Le Huu Trac Secondary and High School, right near their home.
