Lieutenant General Tran Ngoc Quyen, Party Secretary and Political Commissar of the Air Defense - Air Force Service attended and spoke at the ceremony.

Established on April 22, 1965, Regiment 238 is the second missile unit of the Vietnam People's Army. In response to the wishes of the officers and soldiers of the Regiment, on September 30, 2003, the Commander of the Air Defense - Air Force Service signed Decision No. 862/QD-PK-KQ to take March 26 as the traditional day of Regiment 238.

During the resistance war against the US to save the country, the Regiment marched and fought in key areas of 18 provinces and cities across the country and 2 provinces in Laos. The Regiment participated in nearly 200 battles, shot down 157 US aircraft of 16 types, including 9 B-52 aircraft, and captured many pilots.

Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh, Deputy Minister of National Defense, presented flowers to congratulate Regiment 238.

With glorious feats of arms and excellent achievements in combat, on January 15, 1976, the Regiment was honored by the Party and State with the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces, battalions: 81, 82, 85 and 6 individuals were awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces.

The Regiment was awarded 8 Military Exploit Medals, 89 Military Exploit Medals to groups, 100 Medals to individuals and many other noble awards.

Lieutenant General Tran Ngoc Quyen, Political Commissar of the Air Defense - Air Force, awarded the Second Class Fatherland Protection Medal to Regiment 238.

Promoting the glorious tradition of 60 years of building, fighting and growing, the officers and soldiers of the Regiment always promote the combined strength, focus on improving the quality of combat readiness, training to master existing weapons and equipment; build good solidarity and unity, excellently complete all assigned tasks, firmly protect the Northeast sky of the Fatherland. Participating in drills, competitions and sports at all levels, they all achieved excellent results and won high prizes, being one of the leading units in combat readiness training of the Division.

In particular, in 2023, the Regiment successfully completed the task of being a model in 3 contents of training regulations, building regulations, and training discipline for the Ministry of National Defense; being a model in technical work and building a comprehensively strong unit "exemplary, typical" for the Army. For many consecutive years, the Party Committee and Party Committee have achieved exemplary clean and strong status, the Regiment has been a comprehensively strong "exemplary, typical" unit, always being one of the leading units in the Emulation Movement to Win of Division 363.

The Regiment was awarded the Emulation Flag by the Ministry of National Defense for "Excellent and comprehensive completion of all aspects of work in 2020, typical in the Emulation Movement to Win of the entire army, contributing to the cause of building the Army, strengthening national defense and protecting the Fatherland". From 2018-2023, the Regiment was awarded the Flag "Excellent training unit" by the Ministry of National Defense. With its achievements in the renovation period, Regiment 238 was awarded the First, Second, Third Class Fatherland Protection Medal by the President, the Third Class Feat of Arms Medal; the Prime Minister awarded a certificate of merit in the emulation movement to build and protect the Fatherland; the Central Military Commission, the Minister of National Defense, and the Party Committee of the Air Defense - Air Force Service awarded many flags and certificates of merit, certificates of merit in all aspects of work. On December 13, 2013, the Regiment was honored by the Party and State with the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces for the second time.

On this occasion, Regiment 238 was honored to receive the Second Class Fatherland Protection Medal. This is a noble award, a recognition from the Party and State for the efforts, constant striving, not afraid of hardships and sacrifices, excellently completing all assigned tasks, contributing to further enhancing the tradition of the twice Heroic Regiment.
