10 outstanding young faces of the whole army in 2024

Good at teaching and passionate about scientific research

When mentioning Major, Dr. Nguyen Van Tuan, lecturer of the Faculty of Chemistry and Technical Physics, Military Technical Academy, many people immediately imagine a young man with a bright, friendly smile - a person who possesses an impressive "record of achievements" in both teaching and scientific research.

The officer born in 1990 is highly appreciated by his superiors and colleagues for his professional capacity because he not only completes his teaching and scientific research tasks well but also actively guides students to review and compete in Physics Olympiads at all levels. In the past 3 years of study, Tuan has presided over 1 excellent grassroots project; he is currently presiding over 1 national project and 1 grassroots project. Although still quite young, Tuan has guided 7 students to complete their undergraduate theses and 3 graduate students to complete their master's theses. The national, Asian and international Physics Olympiad teams that he has guided and trained have brought the school 2 first prizes for the whole group, 14 first and second prizes for individuals, 3 gold medals, 4 silver medals, and 6 bronze medals.

Dr. Nguyen Van Tuan also actively participated in building learning materials and facilities at the Academy; accepted 1 textbook, document, and lecture; wrote an explanation for building the "Center for Research and Application of Nanotechnology in National Defense" at the Military Technical Academy; is writing 2 other textbooks; and at the same time, participated in building the semiconductor training program at the Academy. He participated in reviewing more than 20 scientific articles published in prestigious international and domestic journals; registered 4 exclusive patents that were accepted as valid applications; published 35 scientific works... In his position as Secretary of the Youth Union of the Faculty of Chemistry and Technical Physics, he is always exemplary and proactive in participating in the activities of the Youth Union and the youth movement of the unit.

From 2021 to present, Nguyen Van Tuan has been awarded the title of Emulation Fighter at the grassroots level, the title of "Excellent Lecturer", "Outstanding Youth Union Officer" many times; and was awarded a certificate of merit by the Minister of National Defense. Owner of many practical initiatives

As Deputy Head of Station 63, Technical Support Center, Naval Region 3 (Navy), Captain Ngo Duc Anh always worries, exchanges, and discusses with commanders and teammates to find measures to improve the quality of preservation, maintenance, and repair of weapons and technical equipment of the unit, especially special weapons and equipment.

That comes from the working process, Captain Ngo Duc Anh learned and realized that the equipment, weapons, machines, and inspection lines of the unit have a long life, there is no spare or replacement equipment. Meanwhile, the unit does not have products to serve the practical training process, so the training is not lively and the quality and efficiency are not high. From the above difficulties, along with the passion for research and creativity, Captain Ngo Duc Anh boldly proposed ideas and directly built and implemented 9 initiatives, technical improvements to serve the training mission, which were widely applied and brought practical results.

The above initiatives have been accepted, effectively applied and have the potential to be replicated in grassroots units throughout the army with similar functions and tasks. In particular, the initiatives have solved many practical problems, contributed to replacing equivalent equipment, helped reduce the frequency of exploitation on real equipment, saved materials, time, and reduced human resources for the preparation, inspection and upgrading process. The above initiatives have won many regional awards, the Nguyen Phan Vinh Award, the Creative Youth Award in the Army, etc.

Looking at Captain Ngo Duc Anh's achievements, everyone cannot help but admire and respect him because from 2017 to now, he has been awarded the title of Emulation Fighter at the grassroots level; was an Emulation Fighter of the whole army in 2020, 2023; received the title of "Outstanding Young Face of the Navy" in 2019 and 2021; was awarded a certificate of merit by the Minister of National Defense in 2019, 2021, 2023 and many certificates of merit by the head of the Navy. Flying is happiness

That was shared by Captain Nguyen Hoang Hai Quang, Deputy Squadron Commander and Chief of Staff of Squadron 1, Regiment 925, Division 372 (Air Defense - Air Force).

Living near Da Nang airport, from a young age, watching military planes flying and practicing in the sky, Quang soon nurtured the dream of becoming a military pilot. While in 12th grade, there was a military pilot recruitment exam at Division 372, Quang boldly registered for the exam and then passed the entrance exam to the Air Force Officer School. After graduating, Quang was transferred to Regiment 925. Here, he was trained to fly on the Su-27, a modern aircraft. With high determination and hard work, Quang quickly mastered this type of aircraft, and was able to fly solo after a short time.

From 2021 to September 2024, Quang had a total accumulated flight time of 637 hours and 48 minutes, ensuring absolute quality and safety. In addition to his on-duty duties, Quang also guided and taught 3 young pilots to complete the combat duty outline on land and at sea during the day; 2 pilots conducted solo flights and completed 80% of the training outline. In 2022, he was honored to participate in shooting and dropping live bombs and ammunition on ground targets at TB-2 Shooting Range, and on sea targets at TB-5 Shooting Range, achieving excellent results. In 2023, participating in the Navigation Theory Sports Festival, he won first prize at the Division level; participating in the Navigation Sports Festival of the entire army's air force, Quang won third prize. In 2024, he successfully completed the task of being on duty on level 2 air defense fighter combat duty day and night; Participated in two practice flights, bombing and live ammunition at TB-2 Shooting Range with good results.

With his achievements, for 4 consecutive years (2021-2024), Captain Nguyen Hoang Hai Quang was awarded the title of Emulation Fighter at the grassroots level; he is a cadre and party member who has excellently completed his tasks. Outstanding faces at competitions and sports events

“Although the training environment for competitions and sports events is harsh and difficult, it is also a good condition to train my mettle, helping me improve my skills, expand my military knowledge, especially my determination to not give up in the face of difficulties. In addition, I also learned a lot of experience in management, maintenance and training organization from the coaching team to apply to my unit”. That is the sincere sharing of Captain Vu Thanh Liem, Captain of Company 6, Battalion 8, Regiment 43, Division 395, Military Region 3.

Many teammates jokingly said that Vu Thanh Liem attended competitions and sports events more than he did in the unit. That was a joke, but the results that Liem achieved in competitions and sports events were no joke at all. In 2022, when participating in the Military Region 3 Sniper Shooting Competition, Vu Thanh Liem won second prize overall; participating in the Rescue and Disaster Relief Competition, he won second prize overall at the army level; participating in the International Military Games (Army Games 2022), in the "Accident Zone" competition, he won a gold medal. In 2023, participating in the Army Rescue and Disaster Relief Competition, he won first prize and was awarded a certificate of merit by the Director of the General Department of Politics.

As the company commander, Captain Vu Thanh Liem always maintains the unit's strict implementation of the political education plan, dissemination of the law, and timely orientation of awareness for officers and soldiers against the distorted and destructive arguments of hostile forces. Martial arts man is good at "fighting" in cyberspace

Captain Le Huynh, Team Leader of Team 10, Group 23, Center 286 (Command 86) was born on November 12, 1996 in Phuoc Hoa, Tuy Phuoc, Binh Dinh, a place known as the land of martial arts. It is not known whether Le Huynh is good at traditional martial arts, but in terms of "fighting" in cyberspace, just look at the young officer's achievements to know.

As Deputy Team Leader in charge of Team 9, from 2022 to July 2023, Huynh discovered and reported 3 extremely dangerous malware variants, 232 data-stealing malware variants, 1 cryptocurrency mining malware variant, 2 serious security vulnerabilities on the 3CX Phone system and HP printers on the military computer network. In addition, he discovered and reported 19 high-level, serious security vulnerabilities on the electronic information portals of 7 units.

As Team Leader of Team 10, he discovered and reported 3 new variants; discovered and reported 4 serious security vulnerabilities, 9 high-level vulnerabilities on 6 targets. At the 2024 National Information Security Exercise, he and his teammates surpassed strong teams from domestic and international agencies and enterprises to win 1 second prize; at the same time, won 1 first prize at the 2024 Can Tho City Information Security Exercise. Thanks to his capacity and qualifications, Captain Le Huynh is honored to be a delegate of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense to participate in the ADMM+ Expert Group on Cyber ​​Security for the 2024-2027 term.

In addition to his "real combat" time, Captain Le Huynh also actively participates in scientific research. To date, he has participated in 3 Command-level science and technology missions; is the author of 4 initiatives, technical improvements and 1 Command-level scientific research topic; has 4 works participating in the Creative Youth Award in the Army. Benefiting the factory more than 3 billion VND thanks to passion for innovation

 

With his passion, active research and creativity, over the years, Captain Hoang Dong Dong, Technical Assistant, Technology Engineering Department, Factory Z129 (General Department of Defense Industry) has benefited the unit with more than 3 billion VND thanks to his initiatives, technical improvements and research topics applied in practice.

Learning about Dong through the unit commander, we were provided with a very thick "record of achievements" in scientific research, initiatives, and technical improvements of the young officer. In his position as a technical assistant, Dong directly participated in ensuring technical and technological processes for production; constantly striving, actively sticking to the workshop, passionate about scientific research. He participated in and presided over the implementation of 6 topics, 10 initiatives, bringing in a value of more than 3 billion VND. Typically, in 2024, Dong participated in the implementation of 3 topics, including 1 topic at the Ministry of National Defense level, 1 topic at the General Department of Defense Industry level and 1 topic at the Factory level. In addition, he also presided over 1 initiative at the Factory level, 1 initiative at the General Department of Defense Industry level and 1 initiative that was awarded the third prize of the 24th Creative Youth Award in the Army.

Not only making efforts in self-study, as Deputy Head of the Young Science and Technology Team, Assistant, Permanent Secretary of the Unit's Innovation Council, Hoang Dong Dong has proactively advised the agency and unit leaders to organize the "Young Innovation" Movement in the unit well. Thanks in part to his contribution, the quality of works and initiatives of union members, youth and the entire Factory has increased. From 2022 to 2024, Factory Z129 has more than 200 initiatives applied to production; in 2024 alone, the Factory had 5 initiatives recognized by the General Department of Defense Industry and awarded certificates of merit for making a profit of more than 4 billion VND.

Many local people still remember the heavy rain in mid-October 2023 in Da Nang City that caused severe local flooding in many places. As Deputy Political Commissar of Special Forces Battalion 409 (General Staff, Military Region 5), with the spirit of "helping people is an order from the heart", Senior Lieutenant Truong Quang Thien, together with the Battalion Command, led and directed the unit and directly worked with the troops to evacuate people and move assets to a safe place, earning the trust and admiration of the people.

The noble dream of female military medical students

"Ever since I was in school, I have nurtured the dream of becoming a military doctor, not only to treat and save people but also to be ready to be present in the most difficult places, with my comrades to protect the Fatherland. That is why, the day I set foot in the Military Medical Academy, I knew I had begun a new journey full of challenges but also very glorious." Along with the dream of becoming a military doctor, Bui Viet Ha also has a special passion for Mathematics. Ha believes that Mathematics has helped her practice logical thinking, which is especially useful when entering the path of scientific and medical research. Therefore, the female student has made constant efforts in this subject and won 1 gold medal and 1 silver medal at the National Mathematics Olympiad for students and pupils (2023, 2024). Along with studying and scientific research, Bui Viet Ha also actively participates in voluntary blood donation because she thinks that each drop of blood donated can save another person's life. Viet Ha is currently an active member of the Military Medical Academy's Humanitarian Blood Donation Club.

Looking at the academic and scientific research achievements of the female student from Nam Dinh, many people are even more impressed when they know that Bui Viet Ha has achieved the title of excellent student for 4 consecutive years (from 2020 to 2024); won the encouragement prize at the Student Scientific Research Conference in 2022, 2024. Along with that, Bui Viet Ha was also awarded the title of Emulation Fighter at the grassroots level for 4 consecutive years (2021-2024); was awarded a certificate of merit by the Minister of National Defense twice; the title of "Outstanding Youth Union Officer" in 2021 and many titles and awards from the Military Medical Academy. Notably, Sergeant Bui Viet Ha is the only female face among the 10 outstanding young faces of the entire army in 2024.

Hoang Khac Hieu is respected by leaders, commanders and colleagues for his enthusiasm and passion for researching, developing and implementing Viettel's breakthrough technology solutions, making a strong contribution to Vietnam's digital transformation and making his mark on the international market. Hieu always considers each product as a brainchild to be cared for, meeting the needs of customers, so he must always strive to find ways to develop, open up new spaces, and the next direction for his products to become an even better version. Therefore, he has worked hard to research and preside over the implementation of many important projects of the Corporation, bringing in large revenues such as the "Green Stream" project during the Covid-19 pandemic, ensuring smooth traffic nationwide. Or, the Smart Traffic Penalty Monitoring project in the Smart City ecosystem, which has been deployed for more than 30 projects across Vietnam and internationally, bringing in revenue of 200 billion VND; Project: Building and consulting solutions for the ITS smart traffic ecosystem: ITS Hai Phong brought in revenue of 119 billion VND.
