What situation did the referee make a mistake in?

Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) said: "On February 19, 2025, Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) received a document from Dong A Thanh Hoa Football One Member Co., Ltd. regarding the match between Ho Chi Minh City Club and Thanh Hoa Club.

After the professional departments reported, VFF commented as follows: "In some situations that Thanh Hoa Club reflected in the document, the referee team had accurate management. However, there were still some errors, especially the situation at minute 65 that could affect the match result."

VFF emphasized: "Based on the report received, VFF has directed the relevant departments to suspend the duties of the referees and related individuals as well as strictly handle the errors. VFF affirms that it always focuses on refereeing work and hopes to receive cooperation from clubs in the development of professional football in Vietnam."

Referee Le Vu Linh will have to take a few matches off duty and not be assigned to another position due to his mistake in the above match.

The Thanh Hoa team's complaint letter stated: "In the 65th minute of the match, during the Thanh Hoa team's attack, player A Mit had a situation where he rushed forward to attack in the penalty area. Before that, the referee still let the match continue, but after player Ribamar of Thanh Hoa was fouled in the penalty area, referee Vu Linh immediately blew the offside flag against player A Mit and did not allow Thanh Hoa team to enjoy a penalty due to an offside error."
