On June 6, DongA Ilbo (South Korea) quoted US House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Turner as saying that North Korea has successfully miniaturized a nuclear warhead capable of attacking US territory.

As chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, Turner has access to classified government information and is well aware of North Korea's nuclear weapons development.
The US congressman believes that North Korea has successfully miniaturized a nuclear warhead, asserting that: "Right now, North Korea can attack the US, specifically New York City, with nuclear weapons."
Currently, South Korean intelligence and military agencies remain cautious when discussing North Korea's ability to successfully miniaturize nuclear warheads, only mentioning that Pyongyang "has made significant progress."
However, internal South Korean and US intelligence officials seem to have reached a consensus that North Korea's nuclear warhead miniaturization process is complete or nearly complete.
