Gambling den busted, 16 people detained

At around 2:30 p.m. the same day, the Criminal Police Department of Soc Trang Provincial Police in coordination with Soc Trang City Police suddenly raided the 3rd floor of a house on 30/4 Street, Ward 3, Soc Trang City, catching many people gathering to gamble with money.

At this time, some people fought back to escape. The task force promptly arrested 16 people. Evidence seized at the scene included 2 sets of dice, 19 decks of cards, 18 mobile phones, 9 motorbikes and over 350 million VND.

According to the police, the house regularly organized large-scale gambling for a long time, attracting many people from the provinces and cities of the Mekong Delta to participate. The incident caused public outrage and disrupted security and order in the locality. Therefore, the Directorate of Soc Trang Provincial Police Department directed many forces to develop plans to destroy it.

The Criminal Police Department of Soc Trang Province Police is continuing to expand the investigation and clarify the above gambling case; at the same time, calling on those involved to quickly and proactively surrender to the police to enjoy leniency under the law.
