Implementing the National Action Month on Domestic Violence Prevention and Control 2024

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has issued a document requesting ministries, branches, organizations at the central level, People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities to deploy the National Action Month on Domestic Violence Prevention and Control in 2024 with the following theme:

This is an activity to implement the Law on Prevention and Control of Domestic Violence in 2022; Decision No. 363/QD-TTg dated March 8, 2016 of the Prime Minister approving the National Action Month on Prevention and Control of Domestic Violence, and at the same time to raise awareness and responsibility of agencies, organizations and individuals on prevention and control of domestic violence, building prosperous, equal, progressive and happy Vietnamese families.

Accordingly, the content of the messages and slogans of the National Action Month on Domestic Violence Prevention and Control in 2024 include: Responding to the National Action Month on Domestic Violence Prevention and Control; Domestic violence prevention and control is the responsibility of the whole society; investing in domestic violence prevention and control is investing in sustainable development; promoting the role and responsibility of individuals, families and communities in preventing and controlling domestic violence; obstructing the detection, reporting and denouncing acts of domestic violence is a violation of the law. The following messages and slogans are: All acts of domestic violence need to be detected, prevented and strictly handled; violence is the main cause of current divorces; forced pregnancy, abortion, and fetal sex selection are acts of domestic violence; neglect and lack of care are acts of violence against the elderly; domestic violence impairs children's ability to learn and their comprehensive development.

The forms of communication used in this year's action month include: rallies, competitions, seminars, conferences, performances, seminars, thematic talks; propaganda on television, newspapers, social networks, text messages; hanging banners and posters at the gates of agencies, organizations, and crowded places such as industrial parks, schools, hospitals, markets, shopping malls, residential areas; integrating content on preventing and combating domestic violence into community activities.

At the same time, ministries, branches, organizations, People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities, based on the topics, messages, and time given by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, along with the actual situation in the locality and unit, choose appropriate forms to direct and organize implementation. Agencies and units under the Ministry hang banners, posters, and messages at the agency gates or choose appropriate forms to carry out propaganda and dissemination of laws on domestic violence prevention and control to all cadres, civil servants, and employees.
