(NLDO) - Thousands of experts, engineers, and workers worked through Tet at the "big construction site" of Long Thanh airport during the last days of the year.
These days, at the airport construction site, contractors have organized hundreds of construction teams with nearly 7,000 experts, engineers, workers, and nearly 3,000 pieces of construction equipment.

Mr. Duong Quang Dien, Permanent Deputy Director of Long Thanh Airport Project Management Board (Dong Nai province) said that during the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday, contractors will maintain at least 70% of their workforce and construction vehicles throughout the Tet holiday. Along with that, contractors also plan Spring Festival programs right at the construction site to create a joyful and warm atmosphere for workers.
Major Nguyen Trung Kien (representative of Truong Son Construction Corporation, contractor at Long Thanh airport) said that the unit is still organizing the workforce to construct the items in the package and making efforts to complete all stages ahead of schedule. This year, many workers will stay to celebrate Tet and work at the construction site, so the unit is planning a support plan for workers to ensure a joyful atmosphere to welcome the new year and complete the assigned tasks at the construction site.
The passenger terminal, considered the "heart" of the Long Thanh airport project phase 1, is being accelerated.
In package 5.10, construction and equipment installation have completed all underground reinforced concrete work, floors 1F, 2F, 3F, 4F. Deploying construction of the telescopic bridge foundation.
Mr. Hoang (worker) said: "I have been working at the above construction site for nearly a year. This year, I registered to work through Tet with my colleagues in the team. We were assigned to construct the roof of the station, so everyone is aware and responsible to complete it, quickly and accurately, taking advantage of the dry season weather, everything is favorable for construction. Everyone misses Tet and wants to return home. My hometown is in the West, so I asked the contractor's leadership to let me take 2 days off before Tet to visit home. During Tet, I registered to work with my colleagues. Here, we work in many shifts, including night shifts. However, with the encouragement of the leadership, I also want to make an effort to join hands to complete the construction on schedule.

For package 4.6, construction of runways, taxiways, aircraft parking lots, and runway structures, the joint venture contractor has completed the foundation and is currently constructing the surface layer.
ACV is determined to direct construction units to complete and technically exploit the runway before April 30, 2025 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30), 3 months ahead of the contract schedule.
