The commemorative speech presented by Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Ngoc Chau affirmed: Ha Tinh is a land of talented people, rich in historical - cultural and revolutionary traditions, and has always produced talented people who have made the homeland and country famous; it is a land that converges many tangible and intangible cultural heritages known throughout the country and the world.
One of the famous people of Ha Tinh is La Son Phu Tu Nguyen Thiep. He was born in 1723 in a family with a tradition of studiousness, many of whom passed exams and became famous in Mat village - Nguyet Ao commune, now Kim Song Truong commune - Can Loc district (Ha Tinh).
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Ngoc Chau presented a speech at the celebration ceremony.
Family tradition urged Nguyen Thiep to study hard and study books. In 1743, Nguyen Thiep took the Huong exam and passed the Huong exam. In 1748, he took the Hoi exam and passed the Tam Truong exam, but he did not become an official but stayed home to read books and teach.
In 1756, Nguyen Thiep was appointed as a teacher in Anh Do (Nghe An). After 6 years as a teacher, Nguyen Thiep was appointed as the District Chief of Thanh Giang (Thanh Chuong - Nghe An today). In 1768, Nguyen Thiep resigned from his position and returned to Thien Nhan mountain (Nam Dan - Nghe An) to continue his life of seclusion and teaching.

After many years of teaching among the people, Nguyen Thiep's prestige and reputation became more and more famous, spreading far and wide throughout the country. Lord Trinh invited him to become an official but he refused. Only when King Quang Trung - an outstanding leader with a keen vision, who knew how to appreciate talent and the integrity of scholars who patiently sought the wise, did he agree to help.
With his profound and brilliant intelligence, Nguyen Thiep assisted the king and the country, making an important contribution to defeating the Qing army. After the great victory over the Qing army, Nguyen Thiep and King Quang Trung worked together to restore and build the country.
He devoted himself to helping with the examinations, selecting talented people, and choosing a place to establish the capital. During the reign of Quang Trung, La Son Phu Tu Nguyen Thiep devoted much effort to translating Chinese books into Nom, making Nom the official script of our country at one time.

Nguyen Thiep died in 1804. In 1994, the Nguyen Thiep temple in Kim Song Truong commune - Can Loc and the tomb in Nam Kim commune - Nam Dan (Nghe An) were ranked as national historical - cultural relics.
In 2016, along with famous people: Third Prize Winner Nguyen Huy Oanh, Hai Thuong Lan Ong Le Huu Trac and Great Poet Nguyen Du, Ha Tinh province chose La Son Phu Tu Nguyen Thiep to cast a statue and worship at the Ha Tinh Temple of Literature.
At the ceremony, the audience also learned about the background, life and career of the celebrity through the documentary "La Son Phu Tu Nguyen Thiep - Famous Scholar of Hong Lam Land".

The art program called “La Son Phu Tu Nguyen Thiep - True to His Name” brought to the audience excerpts of folk plays, folk song suites and special songs written about the land of Can Loc in particular, and the homeland of Ha Tinh in general, such as: Returning to the land of talented people; The scholar of Bui Phong mountain - “King Quang Trung seeks the wise”; Tay Son steps of heroes; True to His Name; Ha Tinh land of phoenixes.
The art performances aim to praise the sacred land and the talented people who gave birth to the wise men; depict the virtues, talents, dedication and merits of La Son Phu Tu in serving the king and the country as well as his great contributions to the Tay Son dynasty.
The program was directed by Meritorious Artist An Ninh, with musician Quoc Dung in charge of music; with the participation of singers: Dang Thuat, Thu Ha, Tien Hung, and singers and actors from Ha Tinh Traditional Arts Theater, bringing to the audience deep emotions and pride in the history and traditions of the homeland and people of Ha Tinh.
