On the morning of September 2, when searching on Google, many people were surprised to see the image of the red flag with a yellow star - the Vietnamese national flag - fluttering in the blue sky. When clicking on the image of the national flag, internet users will be taken to information explaining the birth of Vietnam's National Day.
Google's iconic images or Google Doodles are no longer strange to Internet users. Google Doodles are special icons that temporarily replace the Google logo on the Google.com homepage (or Vietnamese Google - Google.com.vn). They often appear on special occasions, birthdays of celebrities, influential people around the world,...
The purpose of Google Doodle is to bring freshness to users. Besides, Google also wants to use these iconic images as a tool to promote, honor and celebrate.
This year's National Day, September 2, marks a significant milestone for the Vietnamese people. On this day 79 years ago, President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence at the historic Ba Dinh Square, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. That is why Google used the image of the Vietnamese national flag fluttering in the wind as a way to recall this heroic historical milestone of the Vietnamese people.
This is not the first time Google has put an image close to Vietnam on the Vietnamese Google homepage. Previously, Google also changed the Google Doodle interface to celebrate the birthday of artist Bui Xuan Phai, honor the image of Hoi An or celebrate traditional festivals such as the Mid-Autumn Festival or Lunar New Year.
