Ho Chi Minh City: First time organizing preschool education connection festival

On the morning of August 29, at the People's Committee of Binh Chanh District, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City organized the Festival of Connecting and Developing Preschool Education in Ho Chi Minh City. This was the first time the festival was held, but it attracted thousands of preschool teachers from educational institutions in Thu Duc City and 21 districts.

The festival is designed with many diverse activities such as exhibition booths, sharing of methods, documents, educational equipment, and exchange of experiences between preschool education facilities.

According to Ms. Luong Thi Hong Diep, Head of the Preschool Education Department (Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training), the Ho Chi Minh City Preschool Education Development Connection Day is an opportunity for preschool education units, facilities, and preschool teachers to share documents, learning materials, equipment; information technology application solutions; and places to provide safe, nutritious food sources for children.

Preschools visit exhibition booths at the festival

Through that, the festival is also an opportunity to raise awareness, attract the participation of the community, young parents and caregivers; create a close connection between schools, families and society in working together to care for education; improve the quality of nurturing, caring for and educating young children.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, Le Thuy My Chau, expressed that the activity aims to promote the activeness of preschool education institutions in connecting with educational units to carry out activities of nurturing, caring for and educating children, especially with the requirement of innovating educational methods in a modern direction, promoting initiative, creativity, and developing skills for children in accordance with the preschool education program.

Through the experience sharing activities at the festival, the Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City requested the Department of Education and Training of Thu Duc City and 21 districts to review the outstanding contents through the reports and exhibition booths at the festival, thereby orienting preschools in the area to appropriately apply the contents, contributing to improving the quality of child care and education.

For preschool education facilities, the leaders of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City proposed to establish a committee to select content and documents in accordance with regulations, research appropriate content to organize consultation with parents and caregivers to unify the selected and implemented content.
