Within the framework of the festival, Ho Chi Minh City launched the Social Security Fund, according to the establishment decision of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.
Mr. Pham Minh Tuan, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, Deputy Head of the Founding Board of the Ho Chi Minh City Social Security Fund, said that recently, the unit has coordinated with many relevant parties to develop a project to establish a social security fund to continue promoting the results achieved when implementing humanitarian activities of the Ho Chi Minh City Social Security Center during the 4th outbreak of Covid-19 in 2021.
Ms. Tran Kim Yen, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, presented savings books to students orphaned due to the Covid-19 epidemic.
The Ho Chi Minh City Social Security Fund is under the management of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and under the state management of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Ho Chi Minh City and relevant departments and branches in the field of fund operations.
The Ho Chi Minh City Social Security Fund will be "upgraded" in the coming time when it enhances information application, has its own website, and its own social network to inform about social security programs and call for contributions and support from individuals and organizations at home and abroad. All information from the fund will be made public, transparent and specific.
Giving social security bags to people in difficulty during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2021
Accordingly, in the late 2023 and first quarter of 2024, with the coordination of socio-political organizations (such as the Labor Federation, the City Youth Union, the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Union), the Ho Chi Minh City Social Security Fund will implement programs such as "Workers' families celebrate Tet with the City", "Spring bus trip", "Health care for the disadvantaged", "Giving livelihoods - Giving love", "Accompanying female workers in childbirth", "Spring of love to care for disadvantaged children"...
The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City said that the total estimated budget for the above programs is more than 3.8 billion VND. Thereby, the unit calls for the participation of philanthropists to accompany and support the implementation of these social security programs to help the disadvantaged in the area.
