Statistics show that at the beginning of 2021, the city still had 4,463 poor households, the poverty rate was 0.21%. By synchronously, promptly and fully implementing poverty reduction programs, mechanisms and policies, by the end of 2021, the city had reduced the number of poor households by 3,507.
In 2022, according to Decision No. 678/QD-UBND of the Hanoi People's Committee approving the results of reviewing poor and near-poor households according to multidimensional poverty standards for the period 2022 - 2025, the city has 3,612 poor households, accounting for 0.16% and 30,176 near-poor households, accounting for 1.38%.
At that time, the city had 3 districts with no poor households according to the new standards: Dan Phuong, Gia Lam, Hoai Duc. As a result, by the end of 2022, the city had reduced 1,579 poor households, leaving 2,134 poor households, accounting for 0.095%.
The number of poor households in rural areas in 2022 is 2,128 households, accounting for 0.17% of the rural population; at the same time, 5/18 districts and towns (Dong Anh, Gia Lam, Hoai Duc, Dan Phuong, Thanh Tri) have no more poor households.
In early 2023, the city had 690 poor households, accounting for 0.03% of Hanoi's total households. In rural areas alone, there were 690 poor households, accounting for 0.06% of the total rural population; 6/18 districts and towns had no poor households.
By the end of 2024, the entire city will have no more poor households (reduced by 690/690 poor households), the poverty reduction target has reached the target 1 year ahead of schedule for the entire period of 2021 - 2025. Hanoi's rural areas currently have only 9,570 near-poor households, accounting for 0.77%.
