According to information from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, in the first 3 months of the year, aquatic resources with high economic value such as mackerel, tuna, anchovies, herring... appeared in large numbers; fishing vessels using gillnets, scoop nets, purse seines... took advantage of favorable weather to actively go offshore for production; aquaculture households carried out pond renovation work to prepare for stocking according to the guidelines for the aquaculture stocking season schedule.

As a result, the total aquatic product output is estimated at 8,805.8 tons, up 23.8% over the same period in 2023, reaching 23.96% of the plan. Of which, the exploitation output is estimated at 6,879.5 tons, the aquaculture output is 1,926.3 tons. The aquaculture area is 2,137.4 hectares.
In the coming time, the agricultural sector will continue to propagate and guide people to properly implement the 2017 Fisheries Law and documents guiding the implementation of the law; regulations on combating IUU fishing.
At the same time, guide shrimp farmers to prepare ponds, check the quality of shrimp seeds before stocking, limit the causes of early mortality syndrome in farmed shrimp, to ensure effective aquaculture production and exploitation, and achieve annual planning goals.
