On the occasion of the 79th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, on the morning of August 15, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, the Politburo and the Party Central Committee Secretariat held a meeting with leaders and former leaders of the Party and State. At the Conference, on behalf of the Politburo and the Secretariat, Comrade Luong Cuong, Politburo member and Standing member of the Secretariat, reported on the country's situation from the beginning of 2024 to present, the key tasks for the last months of the year and the following period. He emphasized that the Central Executive Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat have united and unified in leading and directing the drastic implementation of tasks, focusing on two major issues: Carrying out sudden and unexpected tasks and resolving regular tasks according to the set plan.

After carefully organizing the State Funeral of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, the Politburo and the Central Executive Committee decided on the policy of promptly completing the leadership positions of the Party and State, first of all the position of General Secretary of the Central Executive Committee of the Party, to ensure the regular leadership role of the Party and State in building and developing the country, caring for the people's lives, successfully implementing the goals of the 13th National Party Congress, and preparing for Party congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Party Congress.

Regarding regular work, the Politburo and the Secretariat have focused on directing the resolution of many issues arising from the plan in order to be determined to successfully implement the plan. 3 strategic breakthrough, 6 core mission and 12 The main group of solutions proposed by the 13th Congress has created a solid foundation for the next stage. The Politburo and the Secretariat have also reviewed the progress of the implementation of tasks, evaluated the results achieved, clearly identified the remaining limitations and shortcomings that have not met the requirements in order to focus on leadership and direction to effectively overcome them in the coming time.

After listening to the report on the country's situation in all aspects, former Party and State leaders gave their enthusiastic and responsible contributions and expressed their hope that key leaders of the Central Committee would pay attention to the process of leading, directing and operating the country's development.

Speaking at the Conference, General Secretary and President To Lam acknowledged and thanked the sincere, enthusiastic, sharing and encouraging comments on the common achievements as well as noted the limitations that need to be overcome. He affirmed that the achievements in recent times were thanks to the great efforts of the entire Party, people, army and the entire political system, including the valuable, enthusiastic, intelligent and responsible contributions of comrades. leader, former senior leader of the Party and State.

General Secretary and President To Lam reported to clarify some contents and emphasized that the country has never integrated so deeply and made such positive contributions to world politics, the global economy and human civilization as it does today. However, we are not losing our vigilance against the four threats to the Party's leadership role that generations of Party and State leaders have unanimously identified since 1994; we even identify more complicated developments when comprehensively promoting the renovation process and proactively integrating comprehensively and deeply into the international community. Focusing on leading the implementation of social security policies, improving the material and spiritual lives of the people, creating an exciting atmosphere for the people in life and production. Continuing to resolutely and persistently fight against corruption and negativity with the identified viewpoints, mottos, tasks, and solutions, contributing to building and rectifying a clean and strong Party, promoting sustainable economic development.

General Secretary and President To Lam suggested that in order to push back the risks, successfully implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, carefully prepare for the 16th National Party Congress, and bring the country into a new era, an era of the Vietnamese nation's rise, the entire Party, the entire people and the entire army must constantly strengthen solidarity and unity, join hands and make the most of opportunities and advantages, and make the most of all resources, first of all, internal resources and human resources.
