On the afternoon of October 25, the People's Committee of Bac Giang province held a ceremony to honor "Outstanding Bac Giang Citizens" in 2024.
Attending the ceremony were comrades: Nguyen Van Gau - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mai Son - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Manh Cuong - Former Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, former Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; representatives of the leaders of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, departments, branches, provincial units and 9 individuals awarded the title "Outstanding Bac Giang Citizen" in 2024.
In his opening speech at the ceremony, Comrade Mai Son - Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that the title "Outstanding Citizen of Bac Giang" is the most noble award of the province, awarded to outstanding individuals who have made special contributions to the development of their homeland. This is not only an honor for the honored individuals but also a pride for all Bac Giang people.
Over the past years, under the leadership of Party committees and authorities at all levels, and the consensus and contribution of businesses and people, Bac Giang has made great strides in all fields. These achievements have great contributions from generations of outstanding citizens - those who have been tirelessly dedicating and innovating day and night for the development of their homeland and country.
He said that the 9 faces honored today are typical examples of tireless dedication. They are students and athletes who have made their names in Bac Giang and Vietnam on the international arena; workers with many initiatives and solutions to serve production and business; talented artists, cadres and soldiers who protect the peace of the people day and night; doctors who actively participate in scientific research, make positive contributions to the development of medicine and are typical examples of sacrifice and voluntary blood donation to save people. Each individual is a touching story of determination, love for the profession, love for the homeland and the spirit of tireless dedication.
Faced with new opportunities and challenges, Bac Giang is determined to successfully implement the socio-economic development goals set out in the Resolution of the 19th Provincial Party Congress and the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress. To achieve that, he hopes that each collective and individual will further promote the spirit of patriotic emulation and arouse the desire to contribute in each Bac Giang citizen.
He believes that the shining examples honored today will have a strong influence, inspiring the younger generation to follow. Continue to promote the good tradition, uphold the sense of responsibility, contribute more to the development of the homeland and country, worthy of the trust of the Party, government and people in the province.
At the ceremony, 3 "Outstanding Citizens of Bac Giang" including: People's Artist Ta Quang Lam - Director of Bac Giang Cheo Theater; Ms. Than Thi Thu Thuy - President of Bac Giang City Red Cross Society; Student Truong Phi Hung - Former 12th grade student specializing in Physics, Bac Giang High School for the Gifted (won the Gold Medal at the International Physics Olympiad in 2024) representing 9 "Outstanding Citizens of Bac Giang" in 2024 participated in the discussion. Here, the honored individuals expressed their honor, pride and emotion when being awarded the title "Outstanding Citizen of Bac Giang" in 2024.
People's Artist Ta Quang Lam has been active in the arts for 36 years, and has many contributions and achievements in cultural and artistic activities. As the Director of the Cheo Theater, People's Artist Ta Quang Lam always sets an example; creates a comfortable working environment and a joyful atmosphere to help artists achieve artistic creativity. At the same time, creates conditions for young artists to participate in plays, especially participating in festivals, performances or art competitions so that they have the motivation to strive and devote themselves to art.
People's Artist Ta Quang Lam shared that an artist must have a love for the profession and must constantly be creative and discover himself through many roles. In particular, he must dare to think, dare to do, dare to break the old things of himself to find new things, creating sublimation for the individual in performing.
Truong Phi Hung - Former 12th grade Physics student, Bac Giang High School for the Gifted is one of 5 students participating in the International Physics Olympiad and excellently won the Gold Medal at the 2024 International Physics Olympiad.
Sharing about his journey to winning the Gold Medal, Truong Phi Hung said that he started with Physics at the end of secondary school, then switched from Math to Physics at the end of the first semester of grade 9, which made him quite confused about this subject. With the guidance and instruction of Mr. Nguyen Van Doa, Physics teacher (Bac Giang High School for the Gifted) and his friends, he gradually got used to the subject. He tried his best and gradually entered the exams, gradually won many awards at national excellent student exams, Asian and international Olympics.
To achieve the results I have now, teachers are an indispensable part of this process, especially Mr. Nguyen Van Doa and Mr. Trinh Duy Hieu, a former student of the school, who won the Silver Medal in International Physics, have devoted a lot of effort and passion to teaching me. My friends in and out of the team have always tried their best, creating a competitive learning environment for me to push me forward.
Regarding his future plans, Truong Phi Hung said he will study abroad in Singapore, because this is one of the countries with many universities ranked among the top in the world, with a major that matches his goal - Semiconductor Physics.
Ms. Than Thi Thu Thuy - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Red Cross Society, President of the Bac Giang City Red Cross Society is a person with many outstanding achievements in directly participating and mobilizing people to participate in humanitarian blood donation and performing humanitarian and charitable tasks.
Sharing here, Ms. Thuy said that, realizing that donating blood is a noble act of humanity, she started donating blood since 2008. Up to now, she has donated blood 82 times, including 50 whole blood donations and 32 platelet donations. The motivation for her to actively participate in this humanitarian work is to witness many critically ill patients who need blood but do not have enough blood to transfuse. She hopes to have good health to continue her humanitarian journey.
