Part 2: Exemplary locomotives in border areas (continued from previous part)

Taking revolutionary ethics as the root and fundamental foundation, Party Cell Secretary, Head of Hamlet 4, My Quy Dong Commune, Duc Hue District, Long An Province - Vo Van Tien always promotes the pioneering, exemplary spirit, hardship comes first, enjoyment comes later. He is one of the "bright flowers of revolutionary heroism".

Bright example on the front line

Two years ago, Choi Moi Road in Hamlet 4, My Quy Dong Commune was built to replace the previous small, narrow road. Taking us on a tour of this model road , Party Cell Secretary, Head of Hamlet 4, My Quy Dong Commune - Vo Van Tien expressed his joy when people could trade and transport goods easily, no longer having to endure the dusty sun and muddy rain like before.

Whenever there is a problem at the grassroots level, the Party Cell Secretary, Head of Hamlet 4, My Quy Dong Commune, Duc Hue District - Vo Van Tien (middle) is always present promptly and resolves the problem in a reasonable and sympathetic manner.

Since the road was completed and put into use, the Party Cell, Hamlet Committee and many people have regularly weeded, cleaned the road, planted and cared for flowers and trees. Mr. Tran Van Khuol (Hamlet 4) shared: “Every day, rain or shine, I spend time here weeding and watering the plants. Anyone who has the opportunity to pass through this road will enjoy the fresh air of the countryside, see with their own eyes the green fields, mixed with the yellow color of the canary flowers along the straight dal road. Not only me but also the people here feel very happy and meaningful to contribute their little effort to change the appearance of the border area”.

Doing Party work at the border has more specific difficulties than in urban areas, especially in propagating and mobilizing people to join hands in building traffic works, but Mr. Tien always overcomes difficulties with the spirit of "hardship comes first, enjoyment comes later".

Mr. Tien said: “With the motto “The State and the People work together”, in the past time, I coordinated to mobilize people to donate land and contribute funds to build 2 rural traffic routes with a length of about 3km and a cost of more than 3 billion VND. Thanks to the high consensus of the people, these 2 routes were soon completed. Currently, I continue to mobilize people to join hands to concretize 1 rural traffic route in Hamlet 4, 800m long, with an estimated cost of 1.4 billion VND (of which, the state budget is 1 billion VND, people contribute 400 million VND and donate 1,600m2 of land)”.

The seemingly small actions of Mr. Vo Van Tien have brought about great effectiveness and awareness, spreading widely and deeply, contributing to creating new vitality for a border area with many difficulties. That is also one of the highlights and foundations for My Quy Dong commune to continue the roadmap to build a new countryside.

People's cadre

Growing up from the role of Secretary of the Commune Youth Union, Mr. Tien has been a Party cell secretary for nearly 13 years and a hamlet chief for more than 8 years. From Party work to government work, he has arranged work scientifically and effectively. To contribute to Party building, he always pays attention to creating sources and developing young Party members, because the source of development in the border area is still difficult. Therefore, he and the Party cell spend a lot of time researching and mobilizing families with children who meet the standards, educational conditions, and are excellent to create sources for Party development.

Hamlet 4 Party Cell currently has 19 members participating in activities. Every quarter, the Party Cell develops a topic for activities on socio-economic development in conjunction with the resolution of the Commune Party Committee. In order to maximize the role of each member, the Party Cell assigns specific targets to each member and assigns areas of responsibility to facilitate propaganda and mobilization work.

Being a purely agricultural commune, people's lives are still difficult, so Mr. Tien actively mobilizes philanthropists to take care of policy families, poor households, near-poor households, and vulnerable groups . He is known as the "magical fairy" of the poor. Mr. Tien shared: "What I care about is how each member must always be close to the people, grasp their thoughts and aspirations, and promptly help disadvantaged families." For that reason, every year, he mobilizes more than 240 gifts, each worth about 400,000 VND, and mobilizes support from 15-20 health insurance cards for people in difficult circumstances. Thanks to that, the hamlet still has 7 poor households, the rate of people participating in health insurance is 93.94%, reaching the assigned target.

Mr. Tien's efforts and the consensus of the Party members in the cell have contributed to making Hamlet 4 a typical locality in terms of environmental landscape. Every year, 98% or more of the hamlet's families are recognized as cultural families. Over the years, there have been no violations of security and order. He himself has been assessed as a Party member who has completed his tasks excellently for 5 consecutive years (2019-2024).

Saying goodbye to the remote border region, we will always remember the image of the Party Secretary and Hamlet Chief working diligently along the country road, his hands nimbly weeding and watering plants under the scorching sun. This is the clearest proof of the saying “Hardship comes first, enjoyment comes later”./.
