Recognizing the importance of supporting start-up youth , over the years, the Provincial Youth Union has implemented many practical activities. The Provincial Youth Union organizes training courses, seminars, and exchange programs to equip knowledge, connect resources, and provide financial support for potential projects.

In particular, the Provincial Youth Union pays special attention to supporting projects and start-up ideas of young people in the field of environmental protection and climate change response. There are projects and ideas that have been developed, replicated or realized, bringing economic efficiency and associated with environmental protection.

Rewarding authors with highly appreciated projects and ideas at the 5th Long An Province Innovation and Startup Competition in 2024

Head of the Provincial Youth Union Movement Committee - Nguyen Trung Tuong said that in 2024 alone, the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee will organize 6 startup training courses for union members and young people; 1 seminar program to exchange and share startup experiences with typical young entrepreneurs; 1 Youth Startup Festival for Economic Development.

Thereby, updating and supplementing knowledge for union members and young people to start and establish businesses suitable for each region. In particular, supporting young people to access production and business forms applying high-tech science and technology associated with responding to climate change and protecting the environment.

On the other hand, through that, units such as the Provincial Young Entrepreneurs Association , the Social Policy Bank, Long An branch, and the Vietnam Startup Incubator Joint Stock Company link resources to support effective projects and startup ideas of young people. "In 2024, in the field of environmental protection and climate change response, 2 ideas and 5 startup projects will be supported" - said Mr. Nguyen Trung Tuong.

These projects and ideas demonstrate the creativity, acumen and innovation in TN's business thinking, even in the face of challenges and difficulties, they open up potentials and opportunities. Thereby, demonstrating TN's sense of responsibility towards the environment and the community. With the support from relevant units, these projects and ideas promise to continue to develop, contributing to the sustainable development of the locality.

In the coming time, the Provincial Youth Union will continue to accompany and create conditions for young people to access sustainable production and business models, apply science and technology, contribute to environmental protection and adapt to climate change. This is not only an opportunity for young people to start a business but also an important step in building a green, environmentally friendly economy. At the same time, the young generation is proving that starting a business not only enriches themselves but also contributes to building a better future for the community and society.

Outstanding and creative projects and ideas

One of the typical start-up projects in the environmental field is Organic Dragon Fruit Flower Tea by the group of authors Ho Quy Trong - Nguyen Thi My Dung (Chau Thanh district). According to Ms. Dung, the project originated from the desire to take advantage of local raw materials to bring good products to consumers. The project focuses on purchasing dragon fruit flowers from gardens that do not use pesticides to produce high-quality herbal tea.

This tea is not only delicious but also brings many health benefits, with a gentle, cool aroma, sweet taste, many vitamins, minerals, rich in antioxidants, helps to increase resistance, support digestion. On the other hand, this project also contributes to environmental protection, changing farmers' farming habits in a safer and more sustainable direction. At the 5th Provincial Innovation and Startup Competition in 2024, the project won the Encouragement Prize. From there, it received support from the Provincial Youth Union in expanding the market, connecting with partners to support capital and guarantee product output.

Another creative and environmentally friendly project is Vietnam Aluminum Painting by Nguyen Thanh Tung (Ben Luc district). The project uses scrap from beer and soft drink cans to create artistic paintings. The project is loved by experts, businessmen, union members, and young people.

According to Mr. Tung, there are many types of paintings on the market today, especially embroidery paintings that are very popular. To make a difference from other types of paintings on the market, he came up with the idea of ​​producing and trading aluminum paintings from waste materials such as beer and soft drink cans.

Thanks to its uniqueness and environmental protection significance, the project won second prize in the startup project competition, attracting the attention of the green living community. In addition, the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee introduced Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung to join the Provincial Startup Investment Club and the expanded Young Entrepreneurs Association to participate, share and learn with other members.

In addition, the project of transferring the model of cultivating black termite mushrooms with high-tech automation to local households of Mr. Truong The Khuong (Ben Luc district) also received much attention.

According to Mr. Khuong, in recent years, the mushroom growing industry has grown strongly, creating a clean food source for people, contributing to creating jobs and income, while reducing environmental pollution by utilizing agricultural waste such as straw, sawdust, etc. After many years of incubation, the Project on transferring the model of growing black termite mushrooms with high-tech automation to local households has been replicated to many households.

DA won the Encouragement Prize in the 2024 DA Startup Competition. After the competition, the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee supported DA to participate in training courses to perfect products, plan effective business strategies and have a sustainable development roadmap, build brands, and connect with business partners.

Besides the projects, another outstanding idea is BIOFEED - A breakthrough in sustainable agriculture by the group of authors Nguyen Thi Thuy Linh - Truong Thi Hoai Mong (Tan Tao University). BIOFEED uses fly larvae to process food waste and produce organic fertilizer, contributing to promoting a circular economy, reducing plastic waste, opening up opportunities for start-up projects in the field of environmental protection.

With great potential, at the 5th Provincial Innovation and Startup Competition in 2024, the excellent idea won First Prize in the Creative Ideas competition; at the same time, the Provincial Youth Union supported the connection with the Department of Science and Technology, the Provincial Young Entrepreneurs Association to realize the product and replicate it in practice.

The positive results from the above green startup projects clearly demonstrate the dynamism, courage, intelligence and daring spirit of the youth. It is not only a story of starting a business and increasing income but also a contribution to the journey of building a green, sustainable and environmentally friendly economy./.
