Disappointed when seeing the voting results

After episode 2 of Rap Viet season 3, social networks were "in an uproar" when contestant Alen (also known as Megashock) was not allowed to continue despite being selected by Thai VG.

Alen's performance was highly appreciated, with two outstanding skills: fastflow (fast rapping) and storytelling.

In terms of content, the story is very profound, the lyrics tell the story of a divorced couple, leading to the tragedy of the child: "Does the son want to follow his father or does the son want to follow his mother?"

He shared that this is his own story and the reason he wrote this article is because he wanted to express his feelings that he had not been able to express for a long time. His emphasis also moved many viewers and made them feel sympathy when watching the performance. Coach Thai VG also compared him to the "monument" of Vietnamese rap - Khanh Nho.

However, Alen was eventually eliminated from the show because he only received 48% of the audience votes in the studio. According to the rules of season 3, contestants must receive more than 50% of the votes to have a chance to continue.

“When the screen showed the voting percentage was only 48%, I also felt sad and a bit disappointed,” Alen shared.

Not only Thai VG, judge Karik was very impressed with Alen's performance and declared that he would choose this contestant if he were still a coach. However, many people think that this year Karik is no longer a coach, so the storytelling genre will no longer be emphasized.

Regarding this issue, Alen expressed: "Personally, I think that is not necessarily the case, because 1 of the 4 coaches of Rap Viet is still doing very well in the storytelling genre."

The male rapper also shared his wish to collaborate with Karik: "I have been a fan of Karik since 2010. In the future, if I have the opportunity, I really hope to collaborate with my idol. This will be an extremely honorable and great thing for me."

Revenge at Rap Viet season 4

Speaking more about being eliminated due to not having enough votes from the audience, Alen affirmed that he always thought this was a game when he started participating in the program. The male rapper really wanted to become a good player so he would follow the rules of the game.

The male rapper expressed his wish to return to the competition in the next season.

Sharing about the reasons and difficulties when participating in Rap Viet season 3 after two seasons that did not really leave a strong impression, Alen said he wanted to give himself a chance to break out of his own limits, wanted to experience and learn on a big show.

“The biggest difficulty in bringing yourself from the underground environment to a TV show is the musical language and how to convey it to reach the masses.

I will return to Rap Viet season 4, if I have enough time and health because I am expecting my little angel soon. If so, I will return with a newer, gentler image," the rapper confided.

Alen was born in 1998. He is no longer a strange name in the rap world, known by his stage name Megashock. In Rap Viet, he changed his name to Alen.

He used to be active in the group The Twister and is currently with Error 404. Megashock's strength is fastflow rap, extremely fast word speed that has been practiced for many years. He is even known as the "speed ghost" of Vietnamese rap.

Currently, he is a rare person still pursuing the Chopper Rap genre in Vietnam. This is a fairly new rap genre, introduced to the Vietnamese music market in the early 2000s. Chopper rap focuses on the tempo and speed of the rap lyrics.

Megashock once made an impression with a series of songs in the Saigon Chopper series. The rapper described that the way he raps this genre does not necessarily have to be fast, the most important thing is to create a sense of continuity for the listener.
