The Government has just ranked the Tomb and Memorial Site of Great Physician Hai Thuong Lan Ong Le Huu Trac in Huong Son District (Ha Tinh) as a Special National Monument.
Le Huu Trac, real name Le Huu Huan, was born on November 12, 1724, the seventh child in a family of great intellectuals in Lieu Xa village, Duong Hao district (now Yen My district, Hung Yen province), his maternal hometown was in Huong Son district, Ha Tinh.
He took the name Hai Thuong Lan Ong, meaning lazy, disgusted with fame, and freed himself from the constraints of fame, wealth, and power.
Le Huu Trac died on January 15, Tan Hoi year 1791, at the age of 67 and was buried at the foot of Minh Tu mountain, on the bank of Ngan Pho river.
He left behind a shining example of medical ethics, medical theory, and medical skills. He made great contributions to Vietnamese traditional medicine, including traditional Vietnamese medicine, when he successfully inherited the career of "traditional Vietnamese medicine to treat traditional Vietnamese people" of Zen master Tue Tinh.
At the end of November 2023, at the 42nd Plenary Session, the UNESCO Council officially passed a resolution with a list of 53 cultural celebrities, including the great physician Hai Thuong Lan Ong Le Huu Trac.
