In particular, on September 16, 2023, Cat Ba archipelago along with Ha Long Bay was recognized by UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage.

The highlight of the opening of Cat Ba tourism 2025 is the Cat Ba Amatina Marathon 2025 - Heritage Road (Strides on the heritage land) giving athletes the opportunity to immerse themselves in majestic nature, exploring the beauty of Cat Ba Archipelago - World Natural Heritage.

With a unique cross-island running route, this tournament attracted the participation of over 1,500 professional and amateur athletes from all over the world, gathering here to walk on the heritage land.

With 3 competing distances of 21km, 10km and 5km, athletes experienced poetic coastal roads, through lush green primeval forests and reached the most beautiful views of Cat Ba Island. In particular, the sunset on Lan Ha Bay brought athletes unforgettable moments on the race track.

More than 1,500 athletes participated in the run to respond to the opening of Cat Ba tourism 2025.

Ms. Tran Thi Duy Hao, Hai An district, Hai Phong city shared: "I have participated in many different races, but this is the first time participating in a race in Cat Ba. This place is really beautiful, with mountains on one side and the sea on the other. Today's weather is also extremely refreshing and clean, very ideal for a run."

Through the Cat Ba Amatina-Heritage Road Marathon 2025 (Strides on the Heritage Land), Cat Hai District and the Organizing Committee hope to spread the message of protecting and promoting the value of the Cat Ba Archipelago World Natural Heritage recognized by UNESCO in 2023; at the same time, promote the unique tourism potential of the locality to domestic and international friends.
