Discussion to celebrate the 69th anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors' Day February 27

On the morning of February 27, the Department of Health held a seminar to celebrate the 69th anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors' Day (February 27, 1955 - February 27, 2024).

Attending the seminar were Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee H'Yim Kđoh; Director of the Central Highlands Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology Vien Chinh Chien; Director of the Department of Health Nay Phi La and a large number of officials, doctors, medical staff and civil servants in the health sector in the province.

At the seminar, delegates reviewed the glorious journey with great achievements of the health sector in the cause of caring for and protecting people's health over the past years.

Speaking at the seminar, Director of the Department of Health Nay Phi La said that despite many difficulties, under the leadership of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, Provincial People's Committee and the efforts of the collective leadership, cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers, the Dak Lak Health sector completed the assigned goals and targets, contributing to ensuring health care for people in the area.

Up to now, 100% of communes, wards and towns have medical stations; 97% of medical stations have doctors on duty, 100% of medical stations have computers connected to the network and apply medical management software; the health insurance coverage rate reached 92.7%, exceeding 0.2% compared to the plan assigned by the Government and the Provincial People's Committee. The health sector has maintained the campaign to improve medical ethics throughout the sector, innovate service attitudes; focused on improving the quality of medical examination and treatment, enhancing the application of science and technology, promoting the transfer and development of technical expertise in examination and treatment in hospitals; continued to reorganize the apparatus of medical service units, at the same time training, supplementing human resources, advising on building policies to attract high-quality human resources...

The health sector has also done well in managing drug quality and prices, implementing centralized bidding in an open and transparent manner, ensuring patient benefits; continuing to accelerate the roadmap for granting autonomy to public service units, reducing direct budget allocations to public medical examination and treatment facilities; food safety management has made much progress; administrative procedures have been simplified in accordance with practical requirements; preventive medicine has been well implemented, initially implementing the family doctor model, proactively preventing epidemics, preventing major epidemics from occurring... to meet the people's health care needs.

Promoting the achieved results, in the coming time, the health sector will continue to develop a quality, effective, sustainable health system, effectively control epidemics; strengthen grassroots health care, preventive medicine, improve the quality of medical examination and treatment at all levels; continue to perfect institutions and policies; effectively resolve the shortage of human resources, drugs, supplies, equipment, medical biological products, etc.

Speaking at the seminar, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee H'Yim Kđoh sent his best wishes and deep gratitude for the contributions and efforts of the entire team of cadres, doctors, workers and civil servants in the health sector. At the same time, he affirmed that each doctor and medical staff always carries a noble mission of protecting health - the most precious asset of each person. The great contributions of the health sector to the cause of caring for and protecting people's health have always been highly recognized by the Party and State, all levels, sectors and the people.

Comrade H'Yim Kđoh hopes that the entire health sector will maintain the spirit of solidarity, continue to make efforts, overcome all difficulties and challenges, overcome limitations and shortcomings, and develop increasingly stronger in all aspects, including the network of medical facilities, medical staff and quality of medical examination and treatment, fulfill its obligations and responsibilities to the community, and be worthy of the trust of the Party, State and People.

On this occasion, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee H'Yim Kđoh awarded the Prime Minister's Certificate of Merit to Mr. Trinh Dang Anh - Director of the Provincial Hospital of Traditional Medicine; awarded the Provincial People's Committee's Certificate of Merit to 4 collectives and 7 individuals; awarded the title of "Excellent Labor Collective" to 29 collectives under the Department of Health for their excellent performance in 2023.
