Quang Ninh Province Spring brings warmth to the elderly

On the occasion of welcoming the New Year of At Ty 2025, the Association of the Elderly of Quang Ninh province organized many practical and effective activities, contributing to implementing the direction of the Party Committee and the government on organizing activities to celebrate the Party, celebrate Spring and celebrate the traditional New Year joyfully, healthily, safely and economically, so that no one or family does not have a New Year.

The Association focuses on organizing activities to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2025), mobilizing elderly members to set an example in implementing regulations on traffic safety, fire prevention and fighting; strictly comply with regulations on the use of fireworks. The Elderly Associations at all levels in the province mobilized social resources and allocated funds from the Fund for Care and Promotion of the Role of the Elderly at the grassroots level, organized visits and assistance, and presented 4,556 Tet gifts, worth VND1.5 billion. Of which, the Elderly Associations of communes, wards, and towns presented 2,669 gifts, worth VND953.3 million; the Elderly Associations mobilized and allocated funds from the association to present 1,331 gifts, worth VND332.9 million to the poor and disadvantaged elderly.

Ha Long City leaders awarded longevity certificates and gifts to the elderly

At the beginning of Spring, the Advisory Council coordinated to celebrate the longevity of 18,822 elderly people aged 70, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95, 100 and over 100 years old, with a total amount of VND 15.9 billion. Of which, 140 elderly people aged 100 were congratulated and presented with gifts by the President; 2,481 elderly people aged 90, 95 and 101 years old and over were congratulated and presented with gifts by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; 5,793 elderly people aged 80 and 85 were congratulated by the Chairman of the District People's Committee and 10,651 elderly people aged 70 and 75 were congratulated by the commune authorities.

The longevity celebration was solemnly organized, with the participation of leaders of local Party committees and authorities, who gave speeches and directly presented gifts. It was truly a festival to honor the elderly, demonstrating the fine cultural tradition of "Respect for the elderly, respect for longevity" of the nation. This year, the leaders of the Party committees and authorities of Ha Long City and Mong Cai City directed all sectors to join in, organizing longevity celebrations simultaneously on the same day, creating a vibrant atmosphere, bringing joy, practically encouraging the elderly to continue to live happily, healthily and usefully.

In Ha Long City, on February 5, 2025 (the 8th day of the Lunar New Year), communes and wards simultaneously organized longevity celebrations for 6,400 elderly people. This is the second year the city has simultaneously organized longevity celebrations on the first day of Spring. Representatives of Party committees, authorities, departments, branches and organizations at all levels, on behalf of local people, organized longevity celebrations and sent best wishes to the elderly. Many art performances expressed respect and gratitude to the elderly, contributing to making the longevity celebration more meaningful. At the ceremony, city leaders inquired about the health and family circumstances, wished the elderly a happy new year and gave them lucky money at the beginning of Spring.

The activities of the Quang Ninh Provincial Elderly Association at all levels participating in organizing the traditional New Year celebration of the nation have truly contributed to promoting the beauty of the nation's traditions, receiving attention and support from society, families and the elderly. Thereby, creating motivation and encouragement for the elderly to continue to live healthy and happy lives, continue to contribute their enthusiasm, intelligence and experience to the implementation of political tasks and the socio-economic development of the locality.
