Reporting to the working group, the leader of the Department of Construction said that the management and development of water supply, drainage and wastewater treatment in Binh Duong province has achieved certain results. Specifically, the rate of households with clean water in 2024 will reach 99.65%; the rate of urban wastewater collected and treated in the province will reach about 38%; 100% of industrial parks have invested in building centralized wastewater treatment systems and have automatic wastewater monitoring systems , connecting data to the Department of Natural Resources and Environment. The urban area of the province has 8 water supply plants with a total capacity of 690,000 m3/ day and night , reaching 78% of the design capacity. The land area of current water plants is about 50 hectares.

Regarding rural water supply infrastructure, the province currently has 31 works for 31 communes, managed and operated by the Center for Investment, Exploitation of Irrigation and Rural Clean Water (under the Irrigation Sub-Department). In addition, Binh Duong Water - Environment Corporation Joint Stock Company manages 04 centralized rural water supply works supplying water to 01 commune and 03 wards and towns. The rural area has a water supply rate from the centralized water supply system reaching 53%.

Evaluating the survey results, Mr. Ta Dinh Thi - Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Science, Technology and Environment highly appreciated the results Binh Duong has achieved, especially the positive results in water supply and drainage.

He suggested that Binh Duong soon complete the report in the spirit of absorbing the opinions of delegates, units, and departments of the province; at the same time, he requested Binh Duong to carefully study the investment in developing the drainage and water supply system to contribute ideas to the draft Law on Water Supply and Drainage. According to the plan, the Draft Law on Water Supply and Drainage will be submitted to the National Assembly for consideration and comments at the 9th Session and approved at the 10th Session in 2025. Therefore, in order for the policies and laws on water supply and drainage to ensure completeness, comprehensiveness, synchronization, and no overlaps with other laws, the Survey Delegation hopes that, with practical experience, combined with in-depth research and active participation in giving ideas, Binh Duong will make important contributions to the draft Law.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Minh Thanh requested the professional units to absorb the comments at the meeting to soon complete the report to send to the Survey Team. He affirmed that Binh Duong will actively collect comments to make practical contributions to the process of building the Law on Water Supply and Drainage.
