Average 12-month interest rates of banks reduced to 4.8%
In a recently released report, VNDirect said that deposit interest rates tended to decrease slightly in February after the State Bank issued Directive 1328, requiring credit institutions and foreign bank branches to stabilize deposit interest rates and reduce lending interest rates.

This directive was issued by the State Bank in the context of some commercial banks offering 12-month term deposit interest rates of up to 6%/year.
According to VNDirect data, as of February 27, the average 12-month deposit interest rate of commercial banks had decreased to 4.85%/year, down 0.01 percentage points compared to the previous month.
In addition, the VND depreciated slightly against the USD, under pressure mainly from the State Treasury buying 500 million USD.
Specifically, the DXY index has fallen below 107 from a peak of nearly 110 in early January 2025, showing that market concerns about US trade policy have largely reflected the previous increase in DXY.
From the beginning of the year to the end of February 2025, the Vietnamese Dong has depreciated slightly by 0.29% against the USD.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hung - Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bamboo Capital Group Joint Stock Company (BCG) - has just registered with the Securities Commission to sell 6.5 million BCG shares.
The transaction is expected to take place from March 12 to April 10. If successful, Mr. Hung will reduce his ownership in BCG from 0.84% to 0.09%.
Mr. Hung reported to the management agency that he registered to sell shares to arrange personal finances.
