Tien Phuoc district has Tien Cam commune which must be rearranged in the 2023 - 2025 period because it simultaneously meets both standards of natural area and population size below 70% according to regulations. Currently, Tien Cam commune has a population of 3,208 people, compared to the regulation reaching 64.16%; total natural area of 16.51km2 , reaching 33.02%.
A related adjacent administrative unit affected when implementing the arrangement plan is Tien Son commune, with a natural area of 23.6km2, reaching 47.2% of the standard; population size of 4,175 people, reaching 83.5%.
After merging Tien Cam commune and Tien Son commune, the new commune-level administrative unit has a natural area of 40.11 km2 , reaching 80.22% of the standard; population size of 7,383 people, reaching 147.66%.
According to the draft project, after the merger of the two communes, the name of Tien Son Cam commune will be consistent with the names of the communes in Tien Phuoc district, which use the word "Tien" at the beginning of the name, not overlapping with the names of the remaining communes and towns. At the same time, it ensures to retain part of the names of the two communes after the merger; harmonizing the thoughts and feelings of the people of Tien Son and Tien Cam communes. The new administrative unit after the merger will be headquartered in Tien Cam commune.
After listening to the draft project, representatives of the people of the two localities basically agreed with the draft project, the name of the new administrative unit... However, the delegates also discussed and debated the issue of naming the commune after the merger; the location of the new commune's headquarters; proposed a special mechanism to increase the number of civil servants for the commune after the merger...
Representatives of Tien Phuoc District People's Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the district acknowledged and highly appreciated the opinions of delegates attending the conference. The District People's Committee will study, adjust and complete the draft project; organize the implementation of the administrative unit arrangement roadmap; and at the same time, properly resolve the concerns, suggestions and recommendations of the people.
