Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Quy, Deputy Chief of Cam Le District Police, awarded a certificate of merit from the Director of Da Nang City Police to Mr. LKT (residing in Khue Trung Ward, Cam Le District) for his achievements in detecting and coordinating the arrest of a suspect who resisted law enforcement officers.
As Thanh Nien reported, on January 7, the working group of the Traffic Police Department of Da Nang City Police led by Major Nguyen Huu Tien Len and 4 officers and soldiers were on patrol and control duty on National Highway 14B.
Discovering Tran Dinh Duy (25 years old, residing in Group 8, Hoa Tho Dong Ward, Cam Le District) driving a motorbike with license plate 43G1 - 427.72 carrying a long bundle of metal on Truong Son Street (Hoa Tho Tay Ward, Cam Le District), violating traffic safety, the working group signaled to stop the vehicle for inspection.
However, Duy accelerated and ran away, hitting Major Len and dragging him on the road about 4 meters before pushing him away.
As a result, Major Len was dragged onto the street, seriously injured, and was taken to the emergency room by the working group with a concussion, abrasions on many parts of his body, and a broken finger joint.
At this time, Mr. T. was riding his motorbike near the area in front of the community center of residential area number 8 (Hoa Tho Tay Ward) when he discovered the incident.
Seeing Duy running away, Mr. T. immediately chased after him and called the Cam Le District Police to search for him. Mr. T. followed Duy for nearly 6 km, moving through many routes until Duy stopped to eat noodles, Mr. T. called the police to come and arrest him.
On January 10, Cam Le District Police prosecuted Tran Dinh Duy for resisting a person on official duty.
