Opening the door to trade between Vietnamese manufacturers and the Korean market
The Vietnam Pho Festival 2024 will officially take place on October 5-6 at Ground Pie in Seoul Children's Park (Korea). The program is co-organized by the Vietnamese Embassy in Korea, Tuoi Tre Newspaper, Saigontourist Group, under the direction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and the coordination of the Trade Promotion Agency of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade, General Association of Vietnamese in Korea, Association of Vietnamese Enterprises in Korea, Korea - Southeast Asia Economic Cooperation Association (Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Korea).
The 2024 Vietnamese Pho Festival in Korea offers an opportunity for Koreans, overseas Vietnamese, and international tourists to explore the richness of Vietnamese culture, history, and cuisine through the country's iconic dish, pho.

At the festival, Mr. Vu Ba Phu, Director of the Trade Promotion Agency (Ministry of Industry and Trade) expressed his pride that both pho and kimchi are popular all over the world. Mr. Phu said that these two dishes, from Vietnam and Korea, are popular without needing to be translated on menus all over the world.
“I believe that at least half of the Koreans attending the opening ceremony today have tried Vietnamese pho, whether in Vietnam or in Korea. This speaks to the unique flavors of pho and kimchi, but more importantly, it reflects the cultural heritage, spirit, and centuries of experience in agriculture, production, and cuisine that these dishes contain,” said the Director of the Trade Promotion Agency.
Mr. Phu also expressed his belief that the festival will provide opportunities for Korean consumers and businesses to connect with famous Vietnamese pho brands.

The event also gives people from both countries the opportunity to explore other products made from rice, a traditional Vietnamese rice-growing product, including noodles, rice paper, shrimp chips, seafood, etc., opening the door for greater trade between Vietnamese producers and the Korean market.
In particular, at this year's Festival, the Organizing Committee has set up a business exchange space for Korean and Vietnamese enterprises throughout the festival, with the support of the Vietnam Trade Office in Korea.
“As government agencies, the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency and the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency are committed to promoting these connections and are ready to support businesses of the two countries in seeking trade and investment opportunities in the fields of agriculture, aquaculture, food processing and many other fields,” Mr. Phu emphasized .

Promote friendly relations between the two countries, promote culinary culture, and connect trade
One of the successes of the festival is that within the framework of the festival, Saigontourist Travel Service Company - a member of Vietnam's leading tourism corporation Saigontourist Group, the Korean branch of Vietnam Airlines and Arirang Travel Service Company - a leading travel company in Korea signed a memorandum of understanding, marking the commitment to develop two-way tourism between Vietnam and Korea.
Mr. Pham Huy Binh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Saigontourist Group, said that Saigontourist is committed to bringing the best cultural and culinary experiences of Vietnam to the local community and international tourists in Seoul, as well as promoting tourism exchanges between the two countries.

According to Mr. Binh, this is the second time Saigontourist Group has cooperated with Tuoi Tre newspaper to bring Vietnamese culinary and cultural events abroad, after the success of last year's festival in Japan.
Saigontourist leaders added that pho is not only a dish, it is also a cultural symbol of Vietnam. Visitors to the festival will have the opportunity to enjoy bowls of pho and other Vietnamese dishes prepared by top Vietnamese chefs, including chefs from high-end restaurants of Saigontourist Group.
In the autumn weather of Seoul, Korea, Vietnamese Pho officially met Korean diners to experience and explore interesting things about Vietnamese culture and cuisine. Vietnam Pho Festival 2024 has a performance stage, nearly 70 booths, including more than 40 booths selling pho and delicious Vietnamese and Korean dishes. Besides, there is a space for cultural experiences, exhibitions, and introductions to Vietnamese culinary culture and tourism.

The event was attended by Bin Corporation Group, Pho Atiso, Pho Ta Binh Tay Food, Pho S, Gobi, Saigontourist Group, Sasco, Vietnam Airlines, with many pho brands from 5-star hotels such as Grand Saigon Hotel Restaurant, Saigon Morin Hue Hotel, Majestic Saigon Hotel, Thu Duc Golf Course Restaurant, Caravelle Saigon Hotel... and pho brands familiar to domestic and foreign diners such as: Pho Thin Bo Ho, Pho Phu Gia, Pho Ngoc Vuong, Pho Dau, Pho Sen SASCO, Pho Ta, Pho Sam Ngoc Linh, Pho Atiso Da Lat, Nhat Pho... and famous brands in Seoul such as Pho Khoe, Pho Viko... FPT Group, K-Medical brand, Picare brand accompanied the program.
The festival is designed to promote cultural exchange and strengthen diplomatic relations between the two countries, focusing on Pho, Vietnam's signature dish.

Coming to the festival, anyone can participate and experience many Vietnamese dishes, including traditional Vietnamese pho. With the slogan “Enjoy Pho, Discover Vietnam”, the Organizing Committee hopes that through this festival, it will promote people-to-people diplomacy, strengthen friendship between the two countries and highlight their culinary cultures.
