In order to improve the effectiveness of the Association's activities, meet the requirements of performing tasks in the new situation and keep up with the trend of the technological revolution, in recent times, the Women's Union at all levels in Cam Khe district has actively transformed digitally, applied information technology (IT) in the work of the Association and the women's movement. Thanks to the proficient use of IT, many female members have risen out of poverty, contributing to the effective implementation of Sub-project 1 - Reducing information poverty under Project 6 - Communication and reducing information poverty.
Phuong Vi Commune Women's Union applies IT in implementing the Union's activities to its members.
Previously, the Women's Union of Phuong Vi commune had to regularly visit each branch in the residential area to propagate and mobilize members to implement the Party's new policies and guidelines, the State's laws, and participate in emulation movements. Now, through a phone installed with social networking applications such as Facebook and Zalo, any member can access, grasp timely information and respond to implementation.
Comrade Nguyen Thi Sinh - President of the Women's Union of Phuong Vi commune shared: "When we had not yet accessed IT, we also had a hard time because in the branches there were many elderly members, access to information and application software was limited, members were busy working in enterprises so they did not often participate in meetings organized by the Union. To overcome this situation, we are determined to deploy to all branches in the commune to encourage members to apply IT in organizing Union activities. Thanks to that, the activities of the Union achieved high results, saving time and travel costs, while helping members promptly and fully grasp the policies and plans of the Union, contributing to helping members in difficult circumstances rise out of poverty".
In response to the requirements of the new situation, in recent times, the Women's Unions at all levels in the district have promoted the application of IT in implementing the activities of the Union, in which the District Women's Union has organized online meetings to deploy software applications to monitor and manage cadres and members, emulation and rewards, manage forms, and update statistical reports in the Vietnam Women's Union system. Up to now, 100% of grassroots unions have used the application to manage cadres and members, introduce members, and update complete information to help management be accurate and scientific.
Social networking applications such as Facebook and Zalo are used to create groups to help officials and members search for and share articles about activities, policies and strategies related to women. This helps members easily access useful information, promoting the Association's movements to have a deeper and stronger impact.
Cam Khe currently has over 23,000 women's association members, operating in 257 branches. The application of IT to exploit online platforms has helped to better propagate the activities of the Association and issues of concern to the people in an accurate and timely manner. The Association from the district to the grassroots level has also actively posted articles sharing the Association's activities to spread the Association's work; actively participated in competitions launched by superiors, typically the competition "Application of IT in organizing Association activities in 2024" which has received a large response from women's association members in the district.
Comrade Hoang Thi Gam - President of the District Women's Union said: "We have established the Cam Khe Women's fanpage, which has so far attracted thousands of interactions from female cadres and members. This is also a place to share information and activities of the Provincial Women's Union and the Central Vietnam Women's Union. On our Facebook page, we regularly update news articles about the Union's activities as well as examples of good people, good deeds, typical examples of overcoming difficulties to escape poverty, doing good business, actively participating in humanitarian and charitable activities... creating a spreading effect in the community".
Through specific and practical activities, the cadres and women's union members of Cam Khe district have gradually adapted to the digital transformation process, creating changes in thinking and working methods, promoting initiative and creativity in labor and union work. Thereby, contributing to reducing the rate of poor and near-poor households, increasing the number of well-off and rich households, and improving the quality of life.
