Prime Minister gives gifts and wishes Tet to workers in difficult circumstances in Hai Duong

On the morning of January 10, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited and presented gifts to workers, laborers in difficult circumstances and the poor in Hai Duong province on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2024.

President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Dinh Khang; Secretary General of the National Assembly, Head of the National Assembly Office Bui Van Cuong, Secretary of the Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee Tran Duc Thang, leaders of ministries, branches, central agencies and Hai Duong province also participated in the delegation.

* Visiting and presenting gifts to workers and laborers in difficult circumstances at Kefico Company under Hyundai Motor Group, Dai An Industrial Park, Hai Duong province, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stated that in 2023, in the context of difficulties and challenges, our country still achieved positive and quite comprehensive results in all fields, basically achieving the general goals set out to stabilize the macro economy, control inflation, promote growth, and ensure major balances of the economy.

Of which, economic growth in 2023 is estimated at 5.05%, among the countries with high economic growth in the region and the world. Prevention and control of corruption and negativity are promoted; national defense and security are consolidated and enhanced; foreign affairs and international integration have achieved comprehensive and outstanding results; the country's prestige and position and the people's trust in the Party and State are consolidated and enhanced. In particular, all social targets have been achieved and exceeded, social security and people's lives have been improved.

“The consistent viewpoint of the Party and State is to take people as the center, subject, goal, driving force, and resource for development; not to sacrifice progress, social justice, and social security to pursue mere growth; the highest and ultimate goal is to make our country strong and prosperous, the material and spiritual life of the people increasingly improved, happy, prosperous, each year higher than the previous year, including workers and laborers,” the Prime Minister emphasized.

The Prime Minister assessed that in 2023, Hai Duong had fulfilled its tasks, targets, and objectives set for economy, society, national defense, and security. Economic growth reached more than 8%. Budget revenue was more than 20 trillion VND, exceeding the set target. The province paid attention to ensuring social security.

The Prime Minister stated that the results achieved were thanks to the leadership of the Party, directly and regularly led by the Politburo and the Secretariat, headed by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, the participation of the entire political system, the consensus and support of the people and businesses, and the assistance and help of international friends. In the common achievements of the country, there are contributions from the team of workers and laborers, including workers and laborers in Hai Duong.

Recognizing and praising the efforts and contributions of Hai Duong province in general and the workers to the achievements of the whole country, the Prime Minister requested the Party Committee, the government, the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations, and the entire political system of the province to continue to effectively implement the guidelines, policies, and laws of the Party and the State. In particular, economic development is the center; Party building is the key; cultural development is the foundation; ensuring security and national defense is essential and regular; doing better in ensuring social welfare, improving the material and spiritual life of the people.

The Prime Minister emphasized that, in addition to economic development, job creation and livelihoods for the people, Hai Duong needs to attach great importance to the development of culture and cultural institutions according to the Party's guidelines and policies, the direction of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, following the motto of nation, science, mass, developing culture on par with economy, politics, society, as long as culture remains, the nation remains.

The Prime Minister noted that the province needs to pay special attention to the construction of housing for workers because only when they settle down can they start a career, with the participation of the entire political system, promoting the role of the Trade Union, authorities at all levels, and businesses. Accordingly, the province needs to do a good job in planning, allocating land funds, implementing a credit package of 120 trillion VND for social housing and workers' housing; organizing the construction of workers' housing in a systematic and synchronous manner in terms of infrastructure, cultural, sports, health, education, and environmental institutions, etc., in accordance with the situation and conditions of the country and the locality.

Emphasizing the Party and State's viewpoint of not letting anyone go without Tet, not leaving anyone behind, the Prime Minister requested the Party Committee and authorities at all levels of Hai Duong province to continue reviewing, paying attention to, and taking care of policy beneficiaries, the poor, the disadvantaged, the vulnerable, workers, laborers, etc., ensuring security, safety, and security for people to have a complete Tet.

“Hai Duong has many historical and cultural relics and many traditional festivals. After Tet, the province needs to organize well for people to participate in cultural activities and festivals in a safe, healthy and joyful manner,” the Prime Minister noted.

Welcoming the activities of Hyundai Kefico Company and enterprises in Dai An Industrial Park, the Prime Minister requested Kefico and enterprises to continue operating in accordance with the law, care for the material and spiritual lives of workers, and actively participate in social security activities. The Prime Minister affirmed that the Party and State of Vietnam always protect the legitimate and legal rights and interests of both domestic and foreign-invested enterprises; informed that at the beginning of the year, the Government issued Resolution 01 on the main tasks and solutions to implement the Socio-Economic Development Plan and State Budget Estimates for 2024 and Resolution 02 on improving the business environment and enhancing national competitiveness.

The Prime Minister wished the Party Committee, government, army and people, including workers and laborers of Hai Duong a new year and new victories; the socio-economic development results in 2024 will be higher than in 2023, contributing to the successful implementation of the goals set by the Hai Duong Provincial Party Congress and the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress.

* In the afternoon of the same day, the Prime Minister will visit and give gifts to the poor in Thai Hoc commune, Chi Linh city, Hai Duong province.
