The event is part of a series of activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024) and the 35th anniversary of National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024).
The program is directed by the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; the Military Radio and Television Center, and a number of coordinating units.
With the theme “Forgetting oneself for the people”, this is not only a special art festival, but also vividly recreates the heroic historical significance of the Vietnamese people as well as the Vietnam People's Army in the 80-year historical journey of building, fighting and growing.
The program is structured into 3 chapters: "Fatherland in the heart", "Unforgettable song" and "Forgetting oneself for the people" with immortal songs of Vietnamese music through the historical periods of the nation.
17 art performances were elaborately staged, performed by talented artists, fully depicting the historical and revolutionary spirit of the Vietnamese people. It was also a tribute to the heroic martyrs, the soldiers who devoted their blood and bones, sacrificing their youth for the independence and peace of the nation.
Singer Phan Manh Quynh performs the song "Take me home" which he composed himself.
Familiar melodies of revolutionary songs, through the talented hands of musicians and artists, have been creatively arranged for piano, violin, cello, percussion, brass band and choir with the participation of more than 100 artists.
Singer Duc Tuan participated in two performances "Sacred Vietnam" and "Unforgettable Song"
Each performance touched the hearts of the public, creating a deep connection between the past and the present, arousing in each person pride and responsibility for their homeland and country.
Music becomes a strong bridge, recreating the spirit of “Determination to die for the Fatherland” of the soldiers of the National Defense Army and National Defense Corps in the past. Thereby, it depicts the resilient image of those who devoted their youth and blood to the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.
The revolutionary songs were adapted and produced in the style of a semi-classical contemporary concert (Symphony Orchestra) with the direction of conductor Le Ha My, very unique and impressive.
The event gathered more than 1,000 artists, professional actors, soldiers, youth union members, students... attracting a large number of people to watch live through LED screen systems arranged throughout the central streets of Nguyen Hue and Le Loi; and was also broadcast live on VTV and many other platforms.
