Voter Nguyen Tuan Sang asked the Can Tho National Assembly Delegation to inform about "the investment policy for the high-speed railway project on the North-South axis; suggested that there should be components to connect smoothly to major cities, including Can Tho, to ensure the needs of socio-economic development".

Responding to voters, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said: "The North-South high-speed railway does not have to stop in Ho Chi Minh City, but must also go down to Can Tho and Ca Mau. At this stage, we are doing that, but we are continuing to study the section from Ho Chi Minh City to Can Tho.

The section from Ho Chi Minh City to Can Tho, I think, is very favorable, because there is little land clearance, making it straight will be both beautiful and effective. We have to do it, we cannot help but do it, everyone can rest assured, but because our resources are still limited, we have to allocate them, learn from experience as we go, and gradually expand," Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh shared with voters.

The head of the Government added: “Recently, the capital for the route from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi is about 67 billion USD with an investment of the entire route of 1,435km, speed of 350km/h. From Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City it only takes about 5 hours; similarly, when extending to Can Tho, we will do the same, and even extend to Ca Mau, our vertical axis is like that."
