The Embassy always supports people, creating opportunities for overseas Vietnamese to participate in community activities during holidays in China.

“Overseas Vietnamese feel like they are returning to their motherland to celebrate Tet. We are always proud to introduce ourselves as Vietnamese, always remembering that we are children of Vietnam,” Ms. Hoai shared, and also hoped that the Government would create favorable conditions to support overseas Vietnamese to live and work in China.

On behalf of Chinese students, Mr. Le Duc Anh, Party Secretary and PhD student at Peking University, said that Vietnam is one of the 15 countries with the largest number of international students in China. International students here always receive attention from both the country and the Embassy. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and children at the Embassy

Sharing with overseas Vietnamese, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh recalled the important milestone in the relationship between the two countries, which was the official visit to China by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong in November 2022, considered a historic visit, marking an important milestone in the relationship between the two countries, and strategic orientation for the coming time. Many agreements between the two sides have been raised in terms of common awareness, major orientations, especially those signed to continue to be implemented in the coming years.

“After this visit, Vietnam-China relations are better than before. My visit continues to materialize the General Secretary’s visit, deepening the relationship between the two countries with a special relationship of mountains connecting mountains and rivers connecting rivers. The relationship between the two countries has its ups and downs, just like the relationship between brothers and relatives, sometimes very happy, sometimes troubled. Overall, the situation is very good now, we must do something to make the relationship better,” the Prime Minister emphasized.

The head of the Government also talked about the unforgettable days during the Covid-19 pandemic, where the lesson was to stay strong in the face of difficulties. He also recalled the success of the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic thanks to the Vaccine Fund, the vaccine diplomacy strategy, etc.

Accordingly, the vaccine diplomacy team was born at a very difficult time, late July and early August 2021. This was a wise decision, deployed very quickly to all our representative agencies in the spirit of borrowing, begging, borrowing, all as long as there is a vaccine. Of which, the most purchased vaccine is from China.

Vietnam - China relationship is like mountains connecting mountains, rivers connecting rivers, objectively we cannot abandon each other, the only way is to make it better.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh

"Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi visited Vietnam in August 2021. After the talks, I said I really hoped China would support Vietnam with loans to buy vaccines. Mr. Wang Yi said we would support as much as you need," the Prime Minister recounted.

In the third quarter of 2021, the economy grew by more than 6%. The government at that time, under the direction of the Politburo, had to calculate how to open the economy, but the number one priority was to control the epidemic. Before the decision to open in the third quarter of 2021, vaccine diplomacy efforts continued to be stepped up in a very short time, close to China's National Day holiday on October 10.

"We have sent 9 special flights to bring nearly 40 million doses purchased and supported by China back to the country in a very short time, about 10 days, showing that you are very enthusiastic about us," the Prime Minister reiterated.

Thanks to that, the macro economy is stable, inflation is controlled, growth is promoted, major balances are still ensured, political stability and social order are maintained. Many countries have proposed upgrading relations.

Determining the legal position of Vietnamese people abroad

According to the Prime Minister, the National Assembly recently passed the Law on Immigration and the Law on Citizen Identification, which identified a number of issues related to the legalization of people living abroad without documents and how to determine their legal status.

The Prime Minister and the Vietnamese high-ranking delegation laid a wreath in memory of Uncle Ho in the grounds of the Vietnamese Embassy in Beijing.

"The spirit is that the Party and State always try to determine the legal status of Vietnamese people abroad so that they can study, research, do business and live abroad legally," the Prime Minister stated.

The Prime Minister also said that tomorrow (June 26) during his talks with Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang, the two sides will discuss and specify activities for better relations, including support policies for overseas Vietnamese and Vietnamese students. Currently, there are more than 42,000 Vietnamese people in China, but the number in border provinces has not been counted.

“The relationship between the two countries is like mountains connecting mountains, rivers connecting rivers, objectively we cannot abandon each other, the only way is to make it better. We have clearly defined three priorities, and China has them all: being a neighboring country, a big country, a traditional friend. Both countries have communist parties leading them, share the same aspirations of building socialism and a comprehensive strategic partnership. We give high priority to foreign relations with China,” the Prime Minister emphasized.

The Prime Minister also instructed each permanent agency and citizen living in China to identify the overall situation in order to act sincerely and effectively, so that the relationship between the two countries will become increasingly strong in the spirit of the four goods.
