'The Brutalist', 'Emilia Pérez' and 'Shogun' win big at the 2025 Golden Globes

Emilia Pérez was named Best Motion Picture Musical or Comedy, leading all films with four wins. Meanwhile, The Brutalist took home Best Motion Picture Drama, trailing closely with three Golden Globe wins.

Emilia Pérez also won awards for Best Supporting Actress (Zoe Saldana), Best International Film and Best Original Song.

The epic Shogun, set in feudal Japan, dominated the television awards, winning four awards, including best television series drama.

Hacks won a double, including Best Television Series, Musical or Comedy.

The Brutalist star Adrien Brody, who plays a brilliant architect struggling to build his masterpiece, took home the award for best actor in a drama, while Brady Corbet, who spent seven years working to bring the three-hour-plus film The Brutalist to the screen, won best director.

Sebastian Stan won Best Actor in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy for A Different Man for playing an actor with neurofibromatosis who undergoes a medical procedure to change his appearance.

On the female side, Fernanda Torres won Best Actress in a Drama ( I'm Still Here ), and Demi Moore ( The Substance ) was Best Actress in a Musical/Comedy.

Hiroyuki Sanada was named Best Actor in a Drama Series for his role as an ambitious aristocrat in Shogun . His co-star Anna Sawai was named Best Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Sanada's trusted translator, and Tadanobu Asano received the Best Supporting Actor award for his role in the same series.

Best Actor/Actress in a Musical/Comedy Series went to Jeremy Allen White ( The Bear ) and Jean Smart ( Hacks ), respectively.

The Golden Globes are operated by Eldridge Industries and Dick Clark Productions (DCP), after the Hollywood Foreign Press Association sold all assets, rights and ownership of the show in June 2023.

Last year, Oppenheimer won big at the Golden Globes, including the big prize for Best Drama. In the television category, Succession received four awards, including Best Drama Series.
