TPO - With the orientation of becoming a new city, Nhon Trach district has attracted many enterprises to invest in urban projects. However, after many years, this locality has formed many "ghost" urban areas.
The project to adjust the overall master plan of Nhon Trach new urban area (Dong Nai) until 2045 is currently being completed and is expected to be submitted to the Prime Minister for approval by the end of 2024.

Nhon Trach New Urban Area is located at the center of the growth engine of Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai and Ba Ria - Vung Tau. Located at the southeastern gateway of the largest city in the country, Ho Chi Minh City, Nhon Trach New Urban Area is located at the gateway connecting international and key economic regions.
In particular, in the near future, Nhon Trach new urban area will have the additional advantage of being located near Long Thanh International Airport. Along with that, a series of regional transport infrastructure projects are being and will be implemented such as Ring Road 3 - Ho Chi Minh City; Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway; Phu My 2 Bridge... will create a stronger connection between Nhon Trach and Ho Chi Minh City. From there, promoting the development of Nhon Trach new urban area.
Therefore, Nhon Trach is expected to play an important role in supporting Ho Chi Minh City's rapidly growing population, reducing pressure from other growth-related issues such as housing supply, transportation, and employment opportunities.
With great potential advantages, for over 20 years, Nhon Trach has been oriented by Dong Nai province to develop into a new city. A series of urban area projects have been implemented.
However, over the years, Nhon Trach has not been able to become a “city”. Present in this potential locality are still deserted urban areas and “ghost” houses.
