State Bank Branch Region 15 is headquartered in Rach Gia city, Kien Giang province; its function is to advise and assist the Governor of the State Bank in performing state management of currency, banking and foreign exchange activities in the provinces of Kien Giang, An Giang, Dong Thap, Ca Mau and to perform a number of Central Bank operations under the authorization of the Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam.
State Bank Branch Region 15 is an administrative organization under the organizational structure of the State Bank headquartered in Kien Giang, is a dependent accounting unit, has a balance sheet according to the provisions of law, has its own seal and is allowed to use 4 additional seals to serve operations in the provinces: Kien Giang, An Giang, Dong Thap, Ca Mau.

The provinces of Kien Giang, An Giang, Dong Thap, and Ca Mau have important geographical locations and roles in trade and connection with the provinces of the Mekong Delta, as well as international trade through border gates with Cambodia.
In recent times, the banking sector has implemented many solutions to promote credit growth to meet the capital needs for production and business of people and enterprises, contributing resources to complete infrastructure and socio-economic development of the region.
By the end of January 2025, there were 100 credit institutions operating in Region 15 (36 banks, 61 people's credit funds and 3 branches of microfinance institutions). By the end of February 2025, the outstanding loans of credit institutions in Region 15 reached VND 450,994 billion, down 0.05% compared to the end of 2024, accounting for 36.95% of the total outstanding loans of the Mekong Delta and 2.87% of the total outstanding loans of the economy.
