The first match of the semi-finals of the THACO Cup 2025 was an exciting competition between two rookie teams. Both teams brought an exciting match, when the two halves witnessed two different scenarios. In the first 40 minutes of the match, the Thanh Hoa University of Culture, Sports and Tourism team rushed forward to play offensively and created great pressure on the opponent's goal. On the other hand, the Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry team once again showed that they are a strong team thanks to their emphasis on discipline and tactics.

As Coach Ta Hong Ha declared before the semi-final match, the Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry team had prepared very carefully, and this was proven throughout the 80 minutes of official play. The only representative of the Ho Chi Minh City region in the semi-final round approached the match reasonably, when they proactively gave up the game to the Thanh team and focused on playing defensively, using many long balls. In the second half, the Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry team showed a completely different side. Coach Ta Hong Ha's students rose up to play overwhelmingly, causing continuous turmoil and creating many scoring opportunities. However, what the Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry players lacked was sharpness in the final handling.

The two teams drew 0-0 and had to decide the winner in a penalty shootout. On the 11m mark, Lao goalkeeper Thatsa Xaiyasone played the hero. In the 4th kick, Xaiyasone confidently stepped up to successfully execute the shot, then immediately blocked a shot from a player from the Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry team. In the end, the Thanh Hoa University of Culture, Sports and Tourism team won 5-3 on penalties and won the first ticket to the final match of the TNSV THACO Cup 2025.

The second semi-final match between the Danang University of Physical Education and Sports and the Hanoi University of Physical Education and Sports was also an evenly matched encounter. Notably, the confrontation between the two names considered strong candidates for the championship also had a similar development as the first semi-final match between the Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and the Thanh Hoa University of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

In the first half, the ball was almost only circulated on the field of the Danang University of Physical Education and Sports. The representative of the Central region did not seem to have any notable situations of deploying the ball towards the opponent's penalty area. On the other hand, the Hanoi University of Physical Education and Sports continuously threatened the goal of goalkeeper Phan Viet Cuong. The team of Da Nang University of Physical Education and Sports once again showed their luck in penalty shootouts (winning against Ton Duc Thang University in the quarterfinals), winning 7-6 and securing the remaining ticket to the final match.
