60 years ago, in the early morning of September 4, 1960, Battalion 70 coordinated with working teams, district troops, and commune guerrillas to destroy Dat Do post, combined with the people inside to rise up and destroy the Ha Chau - An Ly concentration camp, completely liberating Binh Phu.
This is a brilliant milestone recorded in the history of the revolutionary struggle of the Party Committee and people of Binh Phu commune in particular, as well as the army and people of Quang Nam province in general. "Ha Chau - An Ly Victory Site" was recognized as a provincial historical relic by the People's Committee of Quang Nam province in Decision No. 41 dated January 5, 2023.
It is one of 20 typical battles selected by Thang Binh district to be included in the book "Some typical battles of the armed forces in Thang Binh district during the resistance war against the US to save the country". Ms. Vo Thi Doan Trang - Head of the Propaganda Department of Thang Binh District Party Committee said that the Propaganda Department and the Party Committee and Military Command of the district have researched and coordinated to compile a book of 20 typical battles, ensuring a source of information and documents among hundreds of large and small battles in the area.
Each battle is structured in terms of the context of the situation, the balance of forces between us and the enemy; to the developments, results, causes and significance, depicting the heroic contributions of the armed forces that fought on the heroic land of Thang Binh.
Commenting on the book, Mr. Tran Hong Anh - former Commander of the Military Command of Thang Binh District said that the writing style should be narrative, vivid but must ensure authenticity. Along with that, each battle must clearly record the name of the commander, the weapons equipped; historical places must be recorded specifically and accurately, if there are any changes, they must be clearly noted.
According to Colonel Nguyen Van Tam - Deputy Political Commissar of the Provincial Military Command, history must be true but the description must be vivid, easy to read, easy to understand. The book is a war summary, so it is very important to draw out the advantages, limitations, and lessons learned. In addition, the book should be published soon to include in the curriculum for appropriate subjects.
Receiving comments, Secretary of Thang Binh District Party Committee - Phan Cong Vy said that the district will absorb and continue to coordinate with relevant agencies to supplement and adjust to launch the book on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Thang Binh Liberation.
