Warm Mid-Autumn Festival at educational facilities for the disabled

For educational facilities for children with disabilities, the school is their second home because there they are taken care of by teachers and education staff and taught literacy and life skills that can help children be confident in themselves and confident when integrating into the community.

For disabled students, although they have limited communication and movement, many of them are still aware of the Mid-Autumn Festival because there they will receive gifts, eat candy and are especially excited to dance with the lion drum, Cuoi, Hang and then happily show off their bags of moon cakes, sparkling lanterns... in their eyes still shine joy and sweet smiles, the loving arms of everyone sharing.

Only when coming to these homes, we can feel the work of the teachers here. Teaching a normal child is already difficult, while teaching children who are slow to develop, have little awareness of actions, understand the world around them... requires the instructor to not only play the role of imparting knowledge, but also needs the steadfastness of a father and the kind heart of a mother, and to be patient and hard-working in order to help the children integrate into the environment.

This Mid-Autumn Festival, the children at the Center for Education of Disabled Children in Quang Trach District and the Center for Raising Disabled Children in Dong Hoi City (Quang Binh) are so happy to receive much attention from authorities at all levels, organizations and leaders of the People's Committee of Quang Binh Province. They came, shared with the children their smiles and wishes for a happy, warm and loving Mid-Autumn Festival.

Mr. Tran Thang, Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Binh province shared: We need to do everything possible to support the staff of these centers to help them do well in social work, take care of the children with affection, responsibility and enthusiasm; focus on rehabilitation, teaching literacy, life skills to help children with disabilities have the conditions to study and recover physically and mentally, and soon integrate into the community.

Local authorities also need to create the best conditions for children, including children with disabilities, to play, study and practice in a safe and healthy environment. Officials and teachers need to make efforts to build the Center into a model unit in raising children with disabilities, contributing to caring for and educating them to become useful citizens for society...
