Identifying agriculture as the leading advantage in attracting investment, Tay Ninh continuously improves the business environment and builds a high-tech agricultural strategy to welcome the "huge" capital flow into agriculture.
Series of "huge" agricultural projects
According to statistics in 2023, Tay Ninh attracted foreign direct investment (FDI) of 751 million USD, exports of 6.6 billion USD, and imports of 4.98 billion USD. The province's agricultural production achieved many positive results, with the industry's growth rate reaching 3%, absolute value reaching 21,726 billion VND, contributing 19.8% to the province's GRDP structure.

Notably, in the first quarter of 2024, Tay Ninh's investment attraction reached more than VND 2,450 billion, 4 times higher than the same period in 2023. Of which, investment in agricultural projects accounted for the highest proportion.
Most recently, the joint venture between the two leading agricultural corporations in Vietnam and the Netherlands, Hung Nhon Group and De Heus Group, has invested VND2,500 billion into the DHN 2,500 billion high-tech livestock farming project and officially started construction on May 19 in Tay Ninh. It is known that this is an agricultural complex chain that applies 100% high technology according to international standards.
Talking about the reason why De Heus Group chose Tay Ninh as a key investment locality, Mr. Gabor Fluit, De Heus Global General Director, assessed that Tay Ninh has a lot of potential and strengths in attracting FDI capital, especially in the field of high-tech agriculture.
Previously, on March 12, BAF Vietnam Agricultural Joint Stock Company (BAF) put into operation the modern green farm cluster Hai Dang High-Tech Pig Farm (Hai Dang farm cluster) in Tay Ninh. This is the largest super farm cluster of this enterprise, with a capacity of 5,000 sows and 60,000 pigs. On the same day, BAF also inaugurated the green farm Tan Chau High-Tech Pig Farm with a scale of 30,000 pigs.
Hai Dang farm cluster is considered the largest scale farm cluster put into operation after satisfying the strict selection criteria of IFC and BAF when applying the highest standard tunnel cage technology in Vietnam. Equipment, automatic management systems and wastewater treatment are imported from large corporations in Europe and America such as: AP, Cristal, Skiold, Big Dutchman...
Granted an investment certificate in 2013 on an area of 685 hectares in Long Khanh commune, Ben Cau district, Tay Ninh, the dairy farm of Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company (Vinamilk) with a total investment of more than 1,200 billion VND has also been in operation since 2016. This is considered the largest independent dairy farm in Vietnam, preparing to expand its scale, apply modern technology and currently expand to raise thousands of cows.
In September 2023, the People's Committee of Tay Ninh province also approved the investment policy for the project of raising chickens according to the closed cold farm model invested by the Southeast High-Tech Agriculture Company Limited. The project has a capacity of 350,000 chickens/batch (5 batches/year), built on an area of 67,394.8 m2 in Tan Chau district with a total investment of 60 billion VND. The project is expected to start construction in 2024 and be completed and put into operation in May 2025.
In early May 2024, the Provincial People's Committee also issued a list of projects to attract investment in Tay Ninh province in 2024. Notably, the province called for investment in two large-scale projects: a medicinal plant cultivation project under the forest canopy combined with eco-tourism and medical services in Hoa Hoi commune (Chau Thanh district) with an area of 1,200 hectares. High-tech farming and livestock farming area in Tan Hoi and Tan Ha communes (Tan Chau district).
Speaking at the launching event of the DHN Tay Ninh High-Tech Agricultural Complex on May 19, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Phung Duc Tien said that the highlight of Tay Ninh province is currently attracting strong investment in livestock projects, including strategic investors such as Hung Nhon Group, De Heus, BAF, Vinamilk... with projects oriented towards forming value chains and linking with people. These are considered projects that create a breakthrough in the province's agricultural development in the coming time.
Building high-tech agricultural strategy
According to the announcement of Tay Ninh Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, approved by the Prime Minister. The goal by 2030 is for Tay Ninh to become a dynamic, civilized province with a good living environment and good adaptation to climate change. By 2050, Tay Ninh will become a province with an economy based on clean industry and high-tech agriculture.

In the agricultural sector, the province focuses on developing 20 concentrated agricultural production areas applying high technology in Tan Chau, Duong Minh Chau, Tan Bien, Go Dau, Chau Thanh districts and Trang Bang town towards value chains, quality, efficiency, meeting international standards.
Mr. Tran Van Chien, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, said that Tay Ninh is a province located in the Southern key economic zone and has many advantages for agricultural development in general and livestock farming in particular.
“We encourage businesses to invest in building advanced technology livestock and poultry slaughterhouses, diversifying consumption markets, and forming many high-tech livestock and slaughter chains,” said Mr. Tran Van Chien.
According to data from the People's Committee of Tay Ninh province, by 2024, the province's poultry herd will have about 10 million heads, with meat output reaching more than 60,000 tons. The livestock structure continues to shift to concentrated farm-scale livestock farming towards biosafety farming.
In order to strongly attract investment, Tay Ninh province has identified the construction of facilities and animal disease-free zones as important in implementing the livestock development strategy. Therefore, Tay Ninh's agricultural sector will reorganize production stages, promote the construction of disease-free livestock farming zones, encourage businesses to invest in building advanced technology livestock and poultry slaughterhouses, diversify consumption markets, and form many high-tech livestock and slaughter chains.
In addition, Tay Ninh is located in the Southeast region, a bridge between Ho Chi Minh City and the capital Phnom Penh. (Kingdom of Cambodia), and is one of the provinces in the Southern Key Economic Zone; has a 240 km long border, 3 international border gates, 3 main border gates, 10 secondary border gates. In the future, Tay Ninh will welcome important traffic projects such as Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai expressway, Go Dau - Tay Ninh city - Xa Mat expressway and Ho Chi Minh road. This will be a new advantage in attracting strong domestic and foreign investment into the area.
The provincial leaders emphasized that the goal in the coming time is to expand the market, improve efficiency and profits through promoting the application of advanced technology, mechanization, automation, computerization, digitalization and circular economy. Technical infrastructure, social infrastructure, and urban areas are invested synchronously and modernly. At the same time, Tay Ninh province is committed to always accompanying and creating the most favorable conditions for investors to learn about and effectively invest in high-tech agricultural projects in the locality.
