Focus on implementing well the activities of "Workers' Month" in 2024

On the afternoon of April 19, the Provincial Federation of Labor held a conference to review union activities in the first quarter.

Attending the conference were Standing members, leaders of departments under the Provincial Federation of Labor; leaders and full-time union officials of grassroots unions.

In the first quarter, the team of cadres, union members, workers, civil servants and laborers had a firm political ideology and strictly followed the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws.

The work of caring for union members and workers has achieved positive results: The Provincial Labor Federation has given more than 2 billion VND to grassroots trade unions to visit and give Tet gifts to 3,448 union members and workers in difficult circumstances; 13/15 grassroots trade unions and 444 grassroots trade unions organized the program "Tet Sum Vay, Xuan Chia Chia" to take care of Tet for tens of thousands of union members and workers; 1,854 union members registered to participate in the program "Union Tet Market" online...

Implementing the resolution of the 17th Lao Cai Trade Union Congress, term 2023 - 2028, up to now, we have supported house repair and construction of "Trade Union Shelter" houses for 24 households in especially difficult circumstances with a total support fund of 760 million VND.

In the first 3 months of the year, trade unions at all levels promoted and recruited 121 union members, and established 6 grassroots trade unions in the non-state enterprise sector.

Participating in the conference, delegates clarified the results achieved in the first quarter, directions and solutions to implement tasks in the second quarter; gave opinions on the draft Reward Regulations of the Provincial Federation of Labor and some targets and tasks for 2024.

In the second quarter of 2024, the Provincial Federation of Labor directed all levels of trade unions in the province to focus on coordinating and organizing well the activities of "Workers' Month" in conjunction with "Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Hygiene" with the theme "Worker Solidarity - Deploying the Resolution" and "Strengthening the assurance of occupational safety and hygiene at the workplace and in the supply chain". In particular, pay attention to coordinating with functional sectors to inspect the implementation of occupational safety and hygiene; organize dialogues with workers; propagate and urge the development of union members, establish grassroots trade unions in the non-state sector...

At the conference, the Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation and the Lao Cai Provincial Police commended collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the movement "All people protect national security" in the period of 2018 - 2023. The Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation awarded a number of emulation titles in 2023 to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in trade union activities.
