On March 19, at the Yen Mo District Political Center, the Provincial Elderly Association's Representative Board in collaboration with HelpAge International in Vietnam organized the opening of a training course on establishing, operating and managing intergenerational self-help clubs.
The training course was attended by more than 60 trainees from the Board of Directors of 9 intergenerational self-help clubs and officials of the Elderly Association at all levels, where the clubs are implementing the VIE085 project in 2024.
During the 5-day period, from March 19-23, students will be taught the following topics: Population aging and awareness of the elderly; the establishment of an intergenerational self-help club model, how to organize activities, manage books, make periodic activity plans, management skills, guidance on health care activities and income generation suitable for the elderly.
Through the training course, it will contribute to improving the management and operation of the clubs, ensuring strictness, efficiency and compliance with legal regulations.
The program is part of the project "Supporting disadvantaged elderly people through expanding intergenerational self-help clubs in Vietnam - phase 2" sponsored by the Korean International Cooperation Agency KOICA.
The project aims to contribute to improving the quality of life of the elderly, especially increasing income and improving health.
At the same time, call for and mobilize support resources to continue establishing and expanding the activities of intergenerational self-help clubs.
