On the morning of August 12, at the headquarters of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) province (Thanh Long Pagoda, Ky Ba Ward, Thai Binh City), Most Venerable Elder Thich Tri Quang, Supreme Patriarch of the VBS, along with the Propagation Board and the Central Economic and Financial Board of the VBS visited and encouraged monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers in Thai Binh province on the occasion of the An Cu season, Buddhist calendar 2567, Gregorian calendar 2023.

Comrade Nguyen Tien Thanh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council and provincial leaders welcomed Most Venerable Elder Thich Tri Quang, Supreme Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha.

Attending the ceremony were Comrade Nguyen Tien Thanh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Most Venerable Thich Thanh Duc, Deputy Supreme Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha; members of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, leaders of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of departments, branches, localities and a large number of monks, nuns and Buddhist followers in the area.

In Thai Binh province, there are over 190,000 Buddhist followers; 615 monks and nuns; 877 large and small monasteries, of which 25 pagodas are recognized as national historical and cultural relics. In the period of 2018 - 2023, more than 240 pagodas were recognized as "Model Pagodas of 4 Landscapes", over 50 billion VND was donated by the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in the province to support charitable and social security activities. With the direction of "Dharma - Nation - Socialism", dignitaries, monks and nuns, Buddhist followers in the province have made many contributions to charitable, humanitarian and social security movements, building Thai Binh province to develop more and more.

Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Nguyen Tien Thanh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council expressed his honor to welcome the Supreme Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha to visit Thai Binh; acknowledged the great contributions of monks, nuns, followers and Buddhists in building the great national unity bloc, the socio-economic development of the locality in recent years. Affirming that the Party Committees and authorities at all levels in the province always identify religion as an important cultural element, and religious people are an inseparable part of the great national unity bloc, he hoped that in the coming time, the Supreme Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and the dignitaries of the Central Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha will continue to pay attention to and guide the Buddhist work in the province to operate effectively. Encourage and direct Buddhist dignitaries, officials, and followers to further promote the tradition of solidarity and humanity, well implement the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's policies and laws, and make many practical contributions to the construction and development of the locality.

The Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council sent the Supreme Patriarch and the Venerables of the Central Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Thai Binh province a diligent summer retreat and good health to continue to make positive contributions to the development of the homeland and the country.

Most Venerable Thich Tri Quang, Supreme Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, gave a sermon at the ceremony to cultivate Precepts - Concentration - Wisdom during the rainy season retreat for monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers.

The Propagation Board and the Central Economic and Financial Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha offered the four requisites to monks and nuns in Thai Binh province during the rainy season retreat.

On this occasion, the Dharma Propagation Board and the Central Economic and Financial Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha offered the four requisites to the monks and nuns of Thai Binh province in a program combining visits and offerings to the An Cu Kiet Ha Buddhist calendar 2567 of the two boards in 63 provinces and cities across the country.
